Anyone here ever try to fast?

So my brother is bragging about his 62 hour fast...only drinking water,coffee, and diet drinks...

I told him I could beat that and going for 65 hours.

I'm in hour 12

I'm also 270lbs... think I can make it?

That sounds unwise, but I had a McGriddle for breakfast plus two donuts less than an hour later.

I had to do "forced" fasts due to major facial surgeries. Two of them were over a month long. The hardest part is the first 8-12 hours.


Now that said, at least I could drink like... chocolate milk full of vitamin mix after day 3.

I don't recommend anything that long, but it won't kill you at only 60 some hours. Good luck!


BEWARE of one little oft overlooked issue: your poop. You might end up with a golfball in there if you are unlucky.

Due to surgery up until yesterday I went 10 days with nothing but water and IV fluid.I think after the 2nd day my stomach started eating itself but I can't confirm that.

Longest I went not being forced was 48hrs I dated a girl that was big into fasting and cleansing the soul.I didn't see the value and quickly got a hoagie when I was finished.

There are people at my church that do what's called a "Daniel Fast", where you go 21 days at the beginning of the year eating nothing but vegetables, fruits and drink nothing but water. (It's in the book of Daniel, where he takes a group of men and insists his men would be stronger and healthier than the King's army eating their heaping portions of meat.)

Yes and I hated it. I just get too hungry and TV has loads of ads for burgers and pizzas and other yummy stuff.

I had to nil by mouth once for a minor surgery, and it was awful because all I could think was I might relapse on my eating disorder

I had facial surgery when I was about 14 and couldn't eat solid food for a month or so. Any time my parents bought my brothers candy or snacks, they'd set aside some for me in a shoe box. Once I was able to eat, I had a shoebox full of junk food. It was wonderful.

I had a seizure on May 3rd, where I bit my tongue so bad, the teeth marks are finally gone. (I have what looks like a scar on it, still) I'm starting to be able to eat solid foods again.

My dad went through a midlife crisis 15 years ago and started eating very healthy and fasting every Friday. He went from 210 into the 140s and we started to get worried. Like most weight losses like that he eventually gained it all back

It ended at 36 hours when my boss insisted we have lunch together...

My brother made it to 72


I found out his reasoning was because a personal trainer was bragging about fasting and how only Trained Keto diet people can do it...my brother said BS and shut him up

Was doing for fun somedays 18 hours and the longest 23 hours. I don't want to do any longer that's just mad.

Yeah, from dawn til dusk for 30 days every year during Ramadhan.
