1984-Wrestlemania 8 - Hulkamania Wrestlemania 8 to King of the Ring 96 - New Generation King of the Ring 96 to Wrestlemania 17 - Attitude Era 2001 to 2002- Invasion Year 2002 to Present Day - WWE Era
The next era will be when Vince dies.
I figure they thought "Ruthless Aggression" sounded vaguely like "Attitude" but it didn't stick.

I can understand lumping 1985-1993 together as one era, but 1985-1989 and 1990-1993 definitely feel distictly different to me. The latter was definitely more polished, more over-the-top cartoonish, and pushed the envelope more with things like Iraqi Sgt. Slaughter, the snake bite, Quakeburgers, Warrior in the coffin, etc. I think in my mind, they're the LJN era and the Hasbro era. To me I would label it like this. 83-86 Expansion era. 87-91 Syndication era. (WWE changed the way they did their TV tapings, and also really upped their production values.) 92-95 New generation. (I'd say when Bret won the title for the first time kicked off the New Generation.) 96/97 Pre attitude. (It's a short period of time, but really pre anything is gonna be a short amount of time.) 98/01 Attitude. 02/06 Post war era 07/12 PG era. 13/16 Reality era. 17/current Modern era. (The current time period will always be the modern era, a name can be given to it once it's passed, Attitude is really the only exception to this.) Just the way I see it, I can understand how others may not agree, in a sense it's a subjective thing.
