Ok so Pauly Shore is one of my favorite performers of all time. In the Army Now is a movie like all of his other films. That ive seen hundreds of times. And that movie put such a fear of random scorpion encounters into my head id have died of fear. How do people live around these things?

www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZqisgymqX4The original scene is much more disturbing : they shove the scorpion down his throat :/ The small ones are the worst , the white or yellow ones , a relative of mine was in Lebanon....one is called "death stalker"

I don't ever want to live in a place where I'd have to accept being stung by a scorpion as an inevitability.

Was it quick as a cat? Hit you with a bat? If it was as big as bull, he would've seen it.

Are you certain that it is all fine? I've been bitten twice in my life by things that had long term effects on my health, which makes me worry a bit for you.
The first I am uncertain of, but I believe it must have been a brown recluse spider. All I know is that the side of my foot slowly started getting irritated and swollen. The swelling then started turning black, which was disconcerting considering it was over an area about the size of a dime. I went to the doctor and he declared it was a spider bite, lanced it (some really disgusting black ooze came out) and cleaned it out. I had to do that about 3 times over the next two months. It was fun.
The second was a bite from something non-venomous, so there's that. Unlike the first instance, I noticed getting bit this time. The fact that I noticed was not surprising as even the drunkest person would feel it when an 8 ft boa constrictor bites you. It hurts and you bleed all over the place. Granted, it isn't a poisonous snake but its mouth is a nasty thing. I underwent antibiotic treatment but it wasn't in the sweet spot. It was thorough enough to kill the bugs in its bite as well as most of those in my intestine, but not enough to kill EVERY bacterium in my intestines. As a result, I got what is known as a nosocomial infection, specifically a Clostridium infection. People die from those and I was sick as a dog for about 4 months. It was less fun than the spider bite.

It was less fun than the spider bite. I have consulted with a doctor in my family . Basically the symptoms were not that severe that warranted further treatment . It was a larger sized bark scorpian , From what I have read online , also been advised by people who been living here a lot longer than me (including an exterminator ) , the larger ones are less venomous & even in some cases they release no venom. I applied some allergy cream and tool pain relievers , & fell asleep . The next morning the pain was gone . Even the mark on my skin has healed . Unlike spider bites I believe the effects of scorpian stings are known pretty quickly( please correct me if Im wrong) .

I don't ever want to live in a place where I'd have to accept being stung by a scorpion as an inevitability. Yep , it is kind terrifying . However these little bastards are not infesting every house hold . My lease is up end of next month & I am moving to a non infested neighborhood

Aren't most scorpions pretty docile around humans and only sting as a last resort when threatened?
