Both shows are about middle class families with three chidren but The Goldbergs is set in the 80's while the The Middle is set in present. Which show do you prefer?

I'm a big fan of both shows but there are so many weird similarities between my family and the Goldbergs that I can't help but love that show.

The Middle x 1000000000. But I love the Goldbergs episode where they parody that 80s movie.

I don't watch the middle, but I'm tired of the Goldbergs-They mix years and follow pretty much the same formula every week-Bev is way too overbearing, but they forgive her-Barry yells and throws a fit, Adam is an ultra nerd and messes up around girls and wtf is Erica doing with a guy that pined after her and she really cared nothing about?

They're both good shows, but I lean towards the Goldbergs.
I do get the criticisms about it being formulatic, but at least for me, that's kinda the charm. A throwback to simpler shows from my youth

I like both but Goldbergs is a near perfect show to me. There is only one episode in it's entire run so far that I dislike, which is pretty amazing since I'm hypercritical with sitcoms. Most importantly, the main characters come off as likeable almost 90% of the time.

I haven't seen much of the Goldbergs, but I am a fan of the Middle. The 2nd season Mother's Day episode makes me laugh, every time

I'll say this: I currently still watch The Goldbergs. I used to watch The Middle but grew tired of it a few seasons ago and haven't watched in a few years.

I like the Middle, but the Goldbergs is one of my faves. Goldbergs and Fresh Off the Boat both deserve more love.

I like both but middle shades it despite Sue Heck being one of the most irritating characters ever

I love The Goldberg's, Barry is hilarious.
On the topic of sitcoms, Kevin Can Wait just debuted in the UK not long ago, jesus, how shite is it? King of Queens is one of my all time favourite shows, to see him in this bland tripe is crap.

The Goldbergs because Frankie Heck is one of the most annoying and worst television parents in the history of TV.

The only thing I dont like about the Goldbergs is how mixed up the 80s references are. I just would have set the show in 86 or 87 and gone on from there instead of this whole "1980-something" stuff.

I like both but middle shades it despite Sue Heck being one of the most irritating characters ever Well that's kind of the point. But she's likable enough that you root for her sometimes. Eden Sher IRL is nice looking too (and it's starting to show as Sue grew up as well...) Plus my friend teases that her and Brick could be MY kids based on our different quirks.
