Emoji will either flop or be a huge hit.
Looks awful, but could see either

I just imagine Stan Lee bursting into a board meeting of either Sony Films or Twentieth Century Fox, greeting everyone by yelling "hello, spider friends!"

As much hate as I give Bryan Singer (hard earned, well-deserved hate), Deadpool, Logan, and Legion have all more or less convinced me the brand is in good hands over at FOX.
The F4 rights, on the other hand, definitely need to go over. They've spent the last 30 years proving they have no idea what they're doing. Plus, Guardians and Ragnarok have me really curious about what the MCU could do with Cosmic Marvel.

That seems to be his more used intro statement Then he has this long monologue about why they should give them back, passionate and full of Stan quips. Exec: No Stan: Well, that's me done. Your job Lawyer types. Excelsior! *walks out of the room like a character from a 30s Disney cartoon*

I can't even imagine how you would realistically incorporate the X-Men into the MCU at this point. Seems like it would be a huge pain in the ass.

Marvel Studios managed to work things like Ego the human planet to work on screen... they can find a way to get the mutants to show up. ESPECIALLY with things like the Infinity Gauntlet coming into play, not to mention the multiverse if they get the Fantastic Four.

I'm just thinking Ego is an easier sell than "oh by the way all these people on Earth have also had superpowers this whole time." Infinity Gauntlet or multiverse is probably the easiest way to do it, sure.

Or Professor X/SHIELD have been suppressing the knowledge of them somehow until I dunno... Magneto is sick of hiding and makes a grand statement as the superior race. These are just off the top of my head, there are ways to do it rather easily if you just put a little creativity into it.

Eh, personally if Marvel got the film rights back, I'd rather they just slap them on their own Earth and run with that.
Fully getting them combined seems really weird, it only works in the comics because of how long ago it was.
Like, it'd be weird in a universe that has an affinity (to a degree) for superheroes for them suddenly to go 'We like superheroes but not THOSE GUYS, THOSE FREAKS!'

I mean that is kinda the entire point of the Mutants though it's that the prejudice doesn't make sense. Secondly, the public at large aren't always 100% behind the heroes in the marvel universe... especially with things like openly fighting in civilian cities and such.

Oh, sure, but honestly, it's kind of better to avoid that and just have them doing their thing somewhere else to not muddy the film waters. It also makes for better storytelling for when a universe crossover happens (Heck, just do JLA/Avengers with JLA being the Avengers and the Avengers role being for the Mutants if that makes sense to anyone whose read it).

Well James Gunn said to get Ego, Marvel had to trade Nega Sonic Teenage Warhead's power set to FOX so Marvel could have Ego.
James said if he couldn't get Ego there was no plan B for Guardians 2.

I can't even imagine how you would realistically incorporate the X-Men into the MCU at this point. Seems like it would be a huge pain in the ass. Easily, easily..could be a great basis for Phase 4 or 5 or whatever. Xavier's been keeping them secret from public to help them hone in their skills (didn't choose to be heroes, just born with abilities). Jean/Magneto/someone causes some shit and they have to come out into the limelight. I dug Singers films. And Wolverine/Logan. But I think Marvel would have a field day re-booting the X-Men in a more traditional comic book style.

Right, you can say that there have been rumored incidents for years, but that Professor X has been doing psychic clean-up work behind the scenes to keep the mutants mostly under wraps and in their own little conflicts. Then Magneto finally goes hardcore buck wild and does something even Charles can't erase, so BAM! mutants.

Pretty much, they bet the house with Ghostbusters being a mega hit only for it to flop and lose them 60 million dollars and letting go of half their workforce. Now they're praying that Emoji will keep them afloat which given the looks of it, they might as well get ready to file for bankruptcy How much out of touch must you be to think either would be a big success? Remember when one of the other studios thought the world was clamoring for a 3D Ben Hur reboot? Being out of touch is apparently a requirement

I think if they really want to be clever, just acknowledge the Fox Universe as another one, where Superheroes (Mutants) are treated more unfairly than the Avengers. I think Deadpool could bridge the too tbh.
