Just read The Console Wars
And this was the year saw Sony come out guns blazing in the gaming console business, and although it did not kill them for another few years Sega took a huge blow that saw them start to fall in the hardware market.

The year I saw my first WWE PPV in person when SummerSlam came to town. And my dad and I shared an elevator ride with Shawn Michaels the day before at the nearby hotel.
Not a bad way to celebrate my 12th birthday!

Yeah, making $4.75 unloading trucks at a retail store on the graveyard shift because I hate working with people. That was 50 cents more than working the floor. So I was content.
I turned 21 that year also. Didn't drink or anything.

My first time seeing Iron Maiden. Yeah, yeah, Blaze sucks and bla bla bla. I thought they were amazing.

Just a heads-up, you may want to link to this due to the clip of the Nitro opening.

So did I. First time I took a break from watching wrestling. Didn't check back in until a couple friends at work told me I needed to check out Sting vs. the NWO.

The movies were kind of crap that year, whereas, the music scene was pretty kick ass. I was 18/19 that year, and the world was my oyster. I remember reading a LOT of comics that year, as that was the year of the AGE OF APOCALYPSE event, which ran through the first 4 months of that year.

1995 was better than 1994 but it was no where near the glorious year of 1997.
