Do they still have that coaster that goes around the top of the Stratosphere Tower? I always wanted to try that, if only for the novelty of being that high up on a roller coaster.

regarding roller coasters, i did the one at New York New York, and it was very rough. left bruises on my shoulders the next day from the harness. it was also $14 I can vouch for this. It's a very bumpy ride and it left me with a headache. Yeah same here. Not the smoothest ride, actually ruined our night. Everyone was hurting after that.

Great tips here, I'm going myself in August. Is the Hoover Dam close? Where's the building with the rides on top? Should I visit Grand Canyon from Vegas or stay closer and go to Vegas after? Hoover Dam is about an hour south of Las Vegas via car. There are tours there that leave from many hotels. If you'll have a car, head south on 93/95. It'll lead you there. You'll find a place to park and then walk through the visitor center and the dam. Hoover Dam is an amazing feat of human engineering and might.

This is great stuff. I'll be staying at the Treasure Island, which I know very little about.
Keep it coming, thank you all!

People will take these little cards, either for a strip club or escort service, and smack two of them together in front of you. Just don't take them.
Also, if you pose for pictures with Deadpool, Bane or whoever else is posing, they expect money.
MGM is my favorite casino, and as mentioned, the buffet is great. It's pricey, the one at the Westgate is cheaper, but not as good.
Go to In-N-Out burger. My favorite Vegas one is off of Maryland parkway, near UNLV.
Also, check out the Pinball Hall of Fame. Awesome place if you're into that.

The bus is a great way to get around the strip and get to downtown. It is pretty cheap and runs 24 hours a day.
A second the chapstick mention.
There used to be a 7/11 on the Strip that was a great place to buy stuff like water and soda for an actual reasonable price.

If you walk past the mall on the Strip, do not make eye contact with anyone selling anything on the street. They will physically accost you and will not let you go until you buy their product.
