I love this theme, and the game show in the 90's was a fun, educational form of entertainment from PBS.
So, appreciate the show and the theme.

I always loved the show. I watched it damn near every day as a kid. I can still recall the day I went to watch it and "Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego?" came on, and being infuriated about it.

It's really weird that they would give a children's character a last name that means whales vagina

I watched it, and I was in my 20s. Heck, even my dad watched it.

What's funny is I didn't see anything of this show until the YouTube era, so when people talked about how great the Carmen Sandiego theme was, I assumed they were referring to this one:

This and GhostWriter on PBS were religious watching to me.
But I laughed everytime some kid got the map of afirca for the end game because 9 times outta 10 they were boned from the get go only to be f***ing amazed when some kid completes it in record time and wins.

Ghostwriter wasn't on after school, it was always Saturday. The Max Mouse storyarc was intense and Greg Lee guest-starred as the computer teacher.
Robocrook was my favorite Carmen Sandiego associate. Even though I'm a better at history than geography, I was disappointed they replaced the show with Where in time is Carmen Sandiego?.

Yeah, if you got the Africa map...you were pretty f***ed.
I consider myself pretty damn good at placing names to a map, but I would have a fit of rage if Africa popped up since I'd be lucky to get even 5 right.
Top Grunge was where it was at though.

With the entertainment industry perpetually looking to reboot stuff, I'd be down for a reboot of the game show at least.
They wouldn't even haven't to change the front, mid or even bonus games that much. Just give the show a more slicker, modern styled presentation (while keeping the tongue in cheek humor of the original) and I think it would be able to find an audience.

What's funny is I didn't see anything of this show until the YouTube era, so when people talked about how great the Carmen Sandiego theme was, I assumed they were referring to this one: That show was actually really good too. Great quality and great stories. Although they describe her as a gentleman thief, stealing for the challenge. Although I don't think she was very successful in stealing a lot of the items she was going for, unlike a certain other gentleman thief.
