When the success of the first song is not reached by subsequent songs, featuring diminishing results.
For example, Lady Gaga wisely released Poker Face first, and then followed up with the much stronger Bad Romance.
Also, a Disney song doesn't count, because it is the studio that is the driving force of the song rather than the artist.
On this note. Is Demi Lovato a one hit wonder? She's been getting the mega push for years, but wasn't the Undertaker dick kicking Summerslam theme her only major hit?

No. She's actually been fairly successful in her pursuits but hasn't gotten a top 5 hit by herself yet.

I take the Wiki definition:
This to me says a One Hit wonder isn't a case of "one hit and that's it" but more that the scale of the hit was so far above their level that it completely overshadowed anything that came before or after it. The Proclaimers for example had a few solid-selling hits (Letter from America, I'm On My Way) but the success of 500 miles was so dramatically higher then their norm that they take the OHW title as a result of it. It's also the definition I use when it comes to OHW's in sport (Buster Douglas, Derrick Cope, Holly Holm etc)
It is admittedly a subjective method (I don't personally consider A-Ha OHW's for example) but I think it's better then going purely by statistics.

Some people have said that The Champs were a good definition of "one hit wonder," if not THE original "one hit wonder." I seriously don't know of any other songs from them other than "Tequila."

They're in the same boat as Hanson- everybody thinks they're a one-hit wonder when both bands are about a five-hit wonder. There's a pretty big number of bands that people consider 1 hit wonders that had more than 1 hit. As I said earlier the term is pretty nebulous on at best... and mostly worthless at worst. Hell I've seen people try and claim Vanilla Ice was a one hit wonder. when he wasn't... outside of only having one Album that did anything it took America multiple hits to realize what they had done Cool As Ice is one of my favorite "so bad it's good" movies and the soundtrack has some great stuff on it (although honestly my favorite songs aren't his haha)

For me is someone that you can barely recall who it is when you hear the song and is the only song ever played on the radio. Above said mombo #5 is a perfect example. Nothing else of his is played and nobody I'm sue could name another song of his. Hendrix may never topped the list but most everyone can name more than one of his songs and Rock stations play several of his songs.

Someone or some group who at least cracks the Billboard Top 40 once, then never again.

Missed the Boat is the only thing that charted at all but it was on the modern rock song chart

I challenge anyone to name a Fine Young Cannibals song off the top of their head that isn't 'She Drives me Crazy.'

A band known for just one song.
Wheatus I think had 2 or 3 top 40 songs but everybody just knows them for Teenage Dirtbag.

Lou Bega, Semisonic, the Wallflowers, acts like that. They show up, have a huge single, then completely vanish.

N.W.A., Björk, Wu-Tang Clan, Josh Groban, Indigo Girls, Velvet Underground, Miles Davis, Phish, Judas Priest, Sublime, The Ramones, The Stooges, Bob Marley, Marilyn Manson, Alice In Chains... There's quite a list of successful no-hit wonders.

I challenge anyone to name a Fine Young Cannibals song off the top of their head that isn't 'She Drives me Crazy.' "Good Thing." And this is where it gets nebulous. We've both named other hits, but is it due to being the right age when they came out, in the right place? Then you go into do people remember it, or was it a success in terms of numbers even if lots of people don't remember later on etc. There's another couple of bands here I can instantly think of their other hit, like Wheatus (A Little Respect) and Semisonic (Secret Smile or Closing Time, depending on your perspective) but that's because I was in my mid teens at the time they came out so I was more aware of everything coming out then.

(FYC: I like "Don't Look Back". Was a video where the microphones change.)
It's all subjective, but my personal definition is:
Artists who have one song they play the hell out of on the pop stations - which results in it charting really high, then following it up with something so "weak" (just not as catchy or successful) they pretty much disappear...save for that one big hit. (My thought goes directly to LEN's "Steal My Sunshine".)
I watched that VH1 Top 100 of one-hour wonders. Lou Bega has a sense of humor about being on the list. Paraphrasing, basically he says, "Hey, I had fun. People still come out to see me perform the song, and we all have a good time. At least I'm remembered for something." (I have his album, and I'm partial to "Tricky Tricky" myself, which was his follow-up.)

My local station played it every day for a month or two when it came out.
