"We are a really forgiving bunch" is the most self-aware thing I've ever seen in this show.
Also human Starlight running on all fours was hilarious.

"Equestria Girls TV Special No. 3: Mirror Magic"...gets a 9/10 from me.
Pros:
-This episode provided a formula which I think would work perfectly should Hasbro ever think about a Equestria Girls TV Series. Since we cannot just rehash the plots from the first Pony seasons, we might as well do a kinda Sailor Moon theme where a character of the week gets corrupted by Equestrian magic and the girls have to use their magical abilities and their element they represent to return the possessed human to normal. Not the most original idea, I know, but it could still provide for some entertaining moments.
-Loved Sunset Shimmer in this one. The focus on her worries regarding Equestrian magic in this world got a good build and the scenes with her having to adjust to her pony body again were hilarious to see (as was seeing pony Shimmer in general). Sunny had a pretty good role in this one.
-Starlight Glimmer as the secondary focused character was also quite nice. Her getting accustomed to a human body was fun (though not as fun as Princess Twilight's first time) and she proved to be quite capable on her own to solve this problem despite having a human body. Glimmy-Glue had a good showing here. Besides, she looks really cute in her humanized form.
-The corruption of Juniper Montage was executed decently and gave a good taste of what might await us with a future EG TV Series (cannot understand Juni though, her regular look is far cuter than what she saw in the mirror).
Cons:
-Yeah, for those that don't like Glimmy-Glue, this special probably did not help that she was positioned as the one who saved the mane cast whom were incapacitated by Juniper and had to spend the majority of the episode on the sidelines. While it did not faze me as much, I still have to say that having the whole mane cast trapped while giving the rescuing all to Glim-Glim was not the wisest decision IMHO.
But yeah, "Mirror Magic" gets a 9/10 from me.

Wouldn't it actually be possible to do an Equestria Girls TV Series since I have heard a different team does the EG stuff than the team who does the pony stuff?

It's possible...but I'd only do it after we had a movie or something where Sunset finally met up with Celestia so they could talk things out personally. Also, figure out how the Sirens were able to live so long (remember, it was Starswirl that sent them to the EqG world). ...and yet I hear screaming all the way from Minnesota at the idea of Equestria Girls: The Series. |
