He's been great at it. One of the best to portray a superhero, easily. I stilll remember when it was announced he was cast. Such inspired casting. I can't think of a lot of dudes who could step up to the mantle. To think for years Tom Cruise was set to play him.

I'm not sure anybody with the surname Stark gets to enjoy a nice quiet retirement. ![](https://media.giphy.com/media/wDFfQLhzxRUm4/giphy.gif)

No disrespect to RDJ, but a lot of his movie choices outside of the MCU are pretty embarrassing in recent years. Phenomenal actor who gets underutilized in most movies. He could have another great role, but I doubt anything will be better than Tropic Thunder.

It helps that the story wasnt crap and badly written between different writers It's always the case when they adapt Mark Millar books, His book adaptions are the rare occasions where Movie > Source material While I wouldn't say this applies across the board, I'd agree that some of his stories have been inferior to their film adaptations. However, Wanted, Civil War, Kick-Ass, Old Man Logan, and The Secret Service all stand on their own as comics regardless of the quality of their film counterparts. The dude has quite the resume.
