Was not a fan of Flashpoint (wasn't torn up they spent so little time on it on the show). Brought about the New 52 which, until Rebirth, sucked my interest for DC comics out. Wasn't a fan of the story either, alternate reality story lines I feel are overdone and just made The Flash look like an idiot. Can't stand when Barry does it in the show and if the film follows the book then I won't like it then either.

Flash tv show needs to get away both from time travel and evil speedsters as the Big Bad. Each season has been that and each season has been less interesting.
I'm still on board, but I'm not loving it like I did the first season.

I remember Supernatural and Smallville having a meh first season since they were all monsters of the week type shit with a developing plot line but got better over time. Shows like Arrow and Flash hit the ground running but stalled up in the next few seasons.

I reckon Luthor is the most likely candidate for a rebooted face. Most definitely. DC reboots the universe so Man of Steel, Suicide Squad, and Batman vs. Superman never exist. Wonder Woman was the first superhero. New batman. Lex Luthor is not the riddler.

It's the name of Flash's movie... but I could easily see it just being a movie. Age of Ultron for instance had nothing to do with the story in the comics. As much as I'd like to believe that, the dream-inside-a-dream-ception scene from Batman v Superman has me pretty confident they've been planning on doing Flashpoint for some time (though, I'd never imagine this soon). To that end, I honestly couldn't imagine a better casting than Jeffery Dean Morgan as Thomas Wayne/Batman. That being said, to go back to my point about doing it this early, it feels like WB is trying to get their big payoff without putting anything in the kitty. Again. The thing about a story like Flashpoint is that it requires so much of a universe to already be built for it's change to mean anything. Civil War and Days of Future Past don't work as phase one movies (I mean, DOFP had issues regardless, but the EVERYBODY DIES certainly hinges on us knowing and caring about enough characters).

Yeah Affleck's exact words were:
"Batman is the greatest role on the f***ing Planet. I'm not going anywhere. I'd be an ape for Matt Reeves if he asked"

Truth be told, in regards to the Flashpoint storyline, I very much enjoyed the animated movie, but as far as I have read in that whole canon, I have mainly read the Batman portion, the Deadman portion (Which was in the same trade) and the Deathstroke portion when he was pirate (Same). I have read a bit of another one in that same trade, but the comic escapes me, but I have no real knowledge of Deadman or Doctor Fate to really say how the characters were or are in their respective comics (I may change that). However, do we really need this storyline in live-action right now? I wouldn't mind seeing it, but it just seems that a lot of comic movies these days mostly have to rely on already-existing stories to make a good plot (I still think that the bits from The Dark Knight Returns and The Death of Superman were less than necessary for BvS).

Man of Steel came out in 2013. By the time this movie comes out, it'll be probably 2020-2021. They'll be 7-8 films in. I would have waited longer but that's not necessarily the worst time to do a soft reboot. When they need to recast a bunch of roles, they still have multiple trump cards in the form of Crisis events to alter the timeliness. D.C. doesn't need to do reboots to recast the entire thing like Marvel. Just do a crisis and bam...you got a new Batman.
