Probably just the power Jones, Kraft and Mara weild in the league. Actually, Jones and Kraft as they funded a certain person who has publicly had issues with Kaepernick with Jones also making a statement against the whole taking a knee. Mara voiced concerns about how Kaep's hiring being received the fans.

Do I think there was some collusion to stop Kaep from getting a job? At this point, yes, I think something is up. Do I think he can prove it? I severely doubt it.

I think it's a combination of two things. One, the headache that comes with hiring Kaep. Yes he has supporters but he has just as many detractors in a season that has already lost viewers. But the other thing that needs to be taken into account is... Kaep SUCKED when he played last, and I mean sucked a fat load. To the point people said his protests were just to get attention towards what was basically a dying career. Not saying that's true, nor am I taking a side in that fight, just stating what has already been said by others.
There could very well be collusion, but also, I can fully believe people don't wanna take Colin off the sheer basis that he's lost it as a player talent wise, having severe regression in his last like two years of play to the point he was backseating to BLAINE GABBERT, well before any protest even happened...

If Scott Tolzien and Christian Hackenberg have jobs in this league there's no teeth to the "no talent" arguement

John Lynch is the best thing to happen to the 49ers since Harbaugh.

Colts fan here, but I think the team should be looked at for their handling of Vontae Davis's injury situation. People called to trade for him and he was kind of hurt.

If Scott Tolzien and Christian Hackenberg have jobs in this league there's no teeth to the "no talent" arguement Word was that Kaep was wanting around $8 - $10 million per season. I'm doubting Tolzien or Hackenberg are making anything near that.

You're spot on. If he could really help a team win, he'd have a job. But he can't, and the headache that comes with him in addition to the fact he sucks doesn't make it nearly worth it

Obviously if Kaepernick was playing at the level of a Brady or Rodgers - he would be signed. Teams aren't that stupid. But a situation like this for a QB is nearly unprecedented. QBR isn't a perfect measure but I think this article sheds a good light on how unique his situation is. He may not be the best quarterback but he is coming off a season where he was definitely a competent one. It also doesn't help the NFL when there have been so many teams this season rolling out horrible QBs week after week.

This is exactly what Jed York deserves for firing Harbaugh and building the shittiest modern stadium in the US.

My thoughts on Kaep, as a player ONLY. I think he can still be above average if decent talent surrounded him. He wasn't horrible last year with NO TALENT anywhere around him on the Chip Kelly Niners. I don't remember him being as horrible as mentioned in the earlier post.
Just for quick comparison, he was much better than and took the job of his ex-teammate Blaine Gabbert who is currently employed.

Bucs QB Jameis Winston will be shut down "A Few Weeks" due to his reoccuring shoulder issue. Ryan Fitzpatrick will be the starter going forward. Don't be shocked if he's shut down for the year as the Bucs Season is pretty lost.
In other news, The Broncos and Texans will keep both Ostweiler and Savage as their respective starters, so their seasons are also pretty much done.

So unless the Jets screw things up royally (which is a possibility), they're going to be a .500 team heading into the bye.

So unless the Jets screw things up royally (which is a possibility), they're going to be a .500 team heading into the bye. Which is kind of screwing up in and of itself. They needed high draft picks. They are not going to be any real playoff threat anytime soon. They're not winning anything other than respect this season. The objective from the kickoff in week one for the Jets should have been to be as bad as possible to angle for the first overall pick. They're a charming story at 4-5 with that woefully undermanned roster, and Todd Bowles deserves a lot of credit for coaching up the players who have bought in, but they're not even a fringe playoff team. The Jets' remaining schedule is as follows: at Tampa Bay, vs. Carolina, vs. Kansas City, at Denver, at New Orleans, vs. Chargers, at New England. There's no surefire win in those final seven games. They could easily go 0-7 to end the year at 4-12, which honestly is the best-case scenario for them, as it would vault them into the top five for a draft pick. But they'll possibly scrap out wins against the Buccaneers, Chargers, and maybe they'll get a lucky bounce against the Panthers or Broncos. I think they're no better than 6-10. Bucs QB Jameis Winston will be shut down "A Few Weeks" due to his reoccuring shoulder issue. Ryan Fitzpatrick will be the starter going forward. Don't be shocked if he's shut down for the year as the Bucs Season is pretty lost. Unrelated to his injury, but can we acknowledge what a dips**t Jameis Winston was on Sunday afternoon? He's literally poking and prodding Marshon Lattimore with a big smile on his face while his team is down 27 points.
