They GOTTA give him the title?
No they don't, some people are meant to be midcarders.

I hate to burst your bubble and I do indeed like Kofi, but we have a new, better replica of him in Rich Swann now...minus the African Ethnicity. ![](http://i60.tinypic.com/1zmz1cl.jpg)

if jinder mahal can win the the world title, then why not Kofi who would be more deserving? i always thought New Day should branch out like any other faction. why cant one of them have single title run while the other two be a tag team and still be together? The horsemen did it.

I still stand by the fact that Kofi should've won the belt in 2009. That night when he had MSG chanting his name after he hit the Boom Drop on Orton was crazy. That should've set hit up for greatness.

I remember watching some of his work on ECW and thinking he was so good
I was watching Night Of Champions 2008 (?) with a friend and I was 100% convinced that Kofi was gonna face Jericho for the IC title
I marked the F out when he won

Whenever I realize he's been here since ECW, it kinda blows my mind.
As for the world title? Eh. Maybe. Maybe not. Can easily see it going either way.

Most successful African American superstar in WWE history? I'd say there's a five time (5x 5x 5x 5x) WCW champion that might disagree with that. Booker may not have held as many titles but he had a much better career in the WWE than Kofi has.

I remember his pants fell down one time when he was trying to look menacing towards Paul Burchill.

He's won the US and IC and Tag Team titles 3 times each at least. That's much better than say Zack Ryder who's been around just as long (longer since before his ECW run Zack was a tag champ with Curt Hawkins) but Zack JUST won his first IC title in a huge moment at 'Mania 32. He's also won all 3 midcard titles, but Kofi has done it many more times and he somehow seems much more legit to jump into the main event.
I say all this but Jinder Mahal most recently before Randy had a feud with Zack's Hype Bro partner, so arguably Zack is closer to a Grand Slam.

The 13 titles aren't that impressive really. What singles run do you actually remember? That time he beat Ziggler for the belt. Oh, and that time he beat Ziggler for the belt. ...when he beat Ziggler for the belt? Didn't he beat Ziggler for one of them once?

That should've set hit up for greatness. I think people forget that at Survivor Series that year, WWE had him go through Punk AND Orton by himself. It really did look like WWE was going to strap the rocket to him. But then they didn't. Kofi even seemed to lament it during the Time Machine gag. "2009 was my best year!"

That's one of the most dubious accolades I've ever heard. Even Owen Hart would have turned down a slammy for that. Kofi? A world champ? LMAO that's never happening. Jinder won it, anything is possible now. I was just about to say that. If Jinder can be world champion....

I, by no means, mean to start anything, but I thought he was African-African, born in Ghana and having family there? Is one of his parents American, perhaps?

I wouldn't ever expect to see Curt Hawkins or Enzo be world champion (though with Jinder Mahal winning the title, who the hell knows at this point), but Kofi could be a solid main event talent if they committed to it. He's always been over with crowds, has plenty of charisma, and is really good in the ring. With the right gimmick, he could definitely be a star.

He moved to the US when he was 3 and he's said he's African-American in an interview when describing how Henry took him and other African-Americans under his wing and showed them the ropes. They GOTTA give him the title? No they don't, some people are meant to be midcarders. And Kofi isn't one of them. Your boy Sin Cara is though. Same with Anderson and Gallows who deserve to be a midcard tag team rather than champions.

I used them as an example given when comparing Kofi to 3 midcarders, it's easy to see him being above them given what he brings to the table.

Just a day or two ago I complained about WWE not knowing what to do with The Club. And a day or two ago, I commented on how awesome I think Sin Cara is. I thought it was a personal attack in my taste, lol.
