Treehouse will be airing Season 7 again, but they'll never get to the new eps by the time the states get to the finale.

Until recently, I would say Starlight represented you there.

I still think they should expand their group and make a new Mane 6.
You got Starlight and Trixie representing the Unicorns.
It did seem Starlight and Maud were bonding so that's one Earth Pony sorted.
Just 2 Pegasus and Another Earth Pony to get.

Also, I just noticed that male changelings have horns and the females don't.

Also, I just noticed that male changelings have horns and the females don't. So Chrysalis is either a special case because royalty, or is a whole different type of "queen".

A lot of what I say rhymes. This however doesn't.

"To Change A Changeling"...gets a 5/10 from me.
Pros:
-Liked Pharynx very much. Loved that instead of a changeling that's still loyal to Chrysalis like I first thought from the synopsis, that while he doesn't agree with a lot of the new hive, he is still loyal to his brother and the hive and is just doing his way of protecting it. The flashback with him and Thorax was cute and some of his lines were hilarious (like his line about Princess Twilight...hey, I do have a sense of humor sometimes about best princess). Definitely a good addition to the Pony World.
-Always a sucker for when German words make an appearance in MLP like with the maulwurf here (unlike the representation here though, it is just the German word for mole). Its design was decent and scary enough and it did look like a good addition to Equestria's bestiary.
-Some of Starlight's and Trixie's interactions were good and funny (loved the delayed effect Starlight's speech had on the rest of the changelings).
Cons:
-Yeah...this episode kinda rubbed me the wrong way a bit. I could have been more accepting of it if Pharynx really was a loyalist to Chrysalis and tried everything to undermine Thorax's rule. But he was characterized as somebody who cared about the hive and just believed in how it should be in order to protect it, i.e. he was not portrayed as evil in the slightest. Thus, the majority of the episode felt more like the Japanese saying "hammering in a nail that sticks out": trying to make Pharynx see the error of his ways and become just like them instead of him being his own.
Here's how the ending should have gone down: After driving off the maulwurf (with only Thorax, Trixie, Starlight and Pharynx there), have Thorax accept Pharynx for who he is and that he does still serve a purpose in the hive. When Pharynx is uncertain about the others, have Thorax say that if the others give him grief, he should say and that he will protect him from the bullies. Thus, Pharynx is accepted back into the hive, gets to keep his old design and we do not have to deal with the others having to "come around" to Pharynx (which is not that common in RL).
Instead, Pharynx changes and becomes like all the others (albeit with a more evolved design) instead of being his own distinct identity like if he had stayed in his old form. Since he was not portrayed as still feeding on other life forms, they could have just let it be like the love for protecting the hive is the love he feeds on, thus negating any change he needs to do to his image.
-OK, the new changelings are wusses. I don't mind the artsy craft stuff and the feeling forum (which was fun), but that they apparently have become so helpless that they cannot even fend off a wild predator anymore. Uhm, weren't your strengths that you are shapeshifters? Why not change into something completely terrifying together instead of hiding scared in your hive? And their appearance at the end was also superfluous because ultimately it was Thorax and Pharynx who drove off the maulwurf. Yeah, while I have grown to the changelings' new forms, their characterization needs some work (both their bravery and their bullying tendencies).
-Trixie was just annoying in this one, constantly throwing Starlight under the bridge until I seriously asked myself...why are they friends again? Seemed like she was even more full of herself than in "All Bottled Up" and if I were Starlight, I would have kicked her to the maulwurf curb right then and there.
So...yeah, 5/10 and the worst episode of Season 7 for me so far.

I can see your complaint about the new changelings, and I can see one argument for it:
They're overcompensating.
Think about it, save for Thorax (as far as we know), all of the other changelings had nothing to look forward to but patrolling and feeding, anyone else be damned. To make amends for things they had to do under Chrysalis' rule, both what we saw and what we didn't see, they are being nicer...but because they never had to before, they don't know how. So, they're going to the complete opposite extreme.
Now that they realize what they are like, and with Pharynx's help, they can reach a proper balance.
And as for Pharynx...I don't see his personality completely changing, and at least he got to keep a darker color scheme than the others. He could become a mix of Shining Armor and Spitfire for the others now, methinks.

My change comment about Pharynx and him becoming like the others was not directed at his personality (sorry, should have been clearer), but that he had to do the transformation thing at all. It would have been better if he was allowed to keep his appearance so as to show that he does not have to change to be accepted into the new hive.

True, but I'm guessing that the writers are having it be an involuntary action thing for changelings once they accept that path.
I mean, Thorax didn't plan on turning into what he is, after all.

Yes, Thorax did not plan into turning what he is, but he seemed fine and content in the first parts of the Season 6 finale up until the change, so why not Pharynx can live on this love and keep his old appearance?
