I have been watching Legends of Wrestling over again. Hearing road stories and the perspective of those from the territory days makes this my favorite show on the Network.
You've got all these legends under contract and it has to be relatively inexpensive to produce. It could be produced on the road in a TV studio or even a hotel meeting room.
I think it would be a shame to miss the opportunity to get some great oral history recorded and on the network for future generations to enjoy and understand how things were in the business. I think analysis of today's product by the legends is vital to helping talent grow and creates additional interest in the product.
I'm sure some will say this this is a niche interest and it probably is. But if Vince is truly interested in preserving the history of the business, and he's truly the curator of Wrestling's history, then more Legends of Wrestling serves that interest.

Loved this show. I can see how they've replaced it with Table for 3, but it just isn't the same

Loved this show. I can see how they've replaced it with Table for 3, but it just isn't the same Definitely not the same. Table for 3 is superficial at best. I enjoy the in-depth stories and the chance for guys to call each other out. There's a bit of challenge and debate that you don't get from Table for 3.

Apparently they've been cutting a lot of non-PPV/special content from the Network to cut costs, and history-based stuff apparently doesn't play very well. It's a shame because this sort of stuff is fascinating, but WWE has spent a lot of time trying to basically breed a wrestling fan removed from history, and I think that plays a big part in a self-perpetuating cycle.

Loved this show. I can see how they've replaced it with Table for 3, but it just isn't the same I wouldn't put those things in the same category at all. They both involve road stories, but Legends really felt like something that looked at the history of wrestling as an art form in all its positives and negatives. Table for 3 is wrestling relaxation. Just shooting the shit. They're very, very different tones and I personally definitely would want both shows.

I love going back and watching the Legends of Wrestling shows. You learn stuff you didn't as a fan. I don't believe they ever bring it back, but I would watch every episode if they did.
As far as Table for 3, it is a different concept. LOW had backstage legends who had their hand in the business telling stories of what occurred backstage. Table for 3 , on the other hand, is a group of 3 guys telling intimate stories and asking a personal question or two. Totally different vibe.

Loved this so much, I've rewatched it a number of times. I'd kill for a new series of this. Get everyone from Austin to Prichard on multi episode panels to shoot the shit and argue their perspectives.

I was pissed off when they decided to scrap this. JBL may be a loathsome turd in a lot of his ways and annoying as shit on commentary but he was perfect as the interviewer on this show. Even if the viewing figures were low, it was one of the few new content shows that catered to the fans of the older stuff. Table for 3 is good but it's too short and poorly edited IMO.

That's Legends with JBL. Legends of Wrestling was a 5-person roundtable discussion show that aired on WWE Classics On Demand. network.wwe.com/shows/vault/legends-of-wrestlingHere's a clip from an episode where Dusty Rhodes talked about the Shockmaster's debut. www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5oMiqJRVqs

I've watched most of those old roundtable ones and count me in on the people who would like to bring them back. Albeit without Michael Hayes being a complete dick (mostly to Bischoff). f*** it, bring back both shows!

It was an enjoyable series. However, it did often stray into the lazy WWF=great, WCW=bad narrative.

There were even times it could go against the usual narrative, like when David Arquette came up, JR did the usual shitting on it, and DDP was there to say he didn't want it can gave all his money to Brian Pillman's family.

They could do a multi-part, multi-format series on the history of wrestling from Gorgeous George to the present. With the right panel (Ross would be a must) or just even an extended documentary, it would be a great way to re-educate the fan base and add classic programming to the network.

Those mid-00 DVDs are hard to watch.

I am. Everyone shits on Vince, head of creative. He has bought up so many tape libraries, how does one not see him as the curator of pro wrestling. Vince loves wrestling. His product is sports entertainment because he knows it draws more money than pro wrestling ever did. And he's right.
