Episode one is out now, playing it at the moment. Still relatively early in, I assume (kind of hard to judge how long these things are going to go), but early opinions are kind of starting to come together for me. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I'm still kind of questioning what the purpose is really since unless there's some major twist to things and / or some sloppy retcon this basically can't add anything new to the original, but I am liking it. Even without the time travel stuff it does still feel like Life is Strange in atmosphere and general mechanics, and I kind of like how switching to Chloe as the protagonist kind of makes it a lot easier to just decide to be a total bitch to people.

I'm gonna get this once all episodes are out otherwise I'll end up forgetting what's happened if I have to wait for the next chapter.
Loved the first one though. It was fantastic.

Just finished episode one. For the most part very good and it does really feel appropriate, and it really fleshes out Chloe a lot and kind of gives you a new side of her, but one pretty big issue I'm having is (note, end of episode spoilers)... {Spoiler}I really don't like Rachel. It's kind of the problem a lot of people had with Chloe in the first game, though I didn't really, but she both comes off like they're trying too hard to make her quirky and at the same time she's just super unlikable. Might change a bit later but for now it really does feel like everyone just loves her for no reason while she's a total bitch. And it's not like following her big, very effective sympathy scene with having her burn a forest down to end the episode particularly helps.

Starting the DL now then I'm going to blast through it after work.
Cannot wait. Absolutely loved Life is Strange.

Because of crappy modem's and internet issues I just now started playing. Chloe's new voice is jarring. And {Spoiler}{Spoiler} her journal is so sad. She truly loves Max. Glad I chose to end LiS original the way I did. ---- Also David's new voice. Yeeeeeeeeeeesh. At least Frank is the same.

I had completely forgotten the LiS prequel was happening between going to Summerslam and the MYC dropping, and putting a crapton of hours in Splatoon 2. I will have to get on this soon.

{Spoiler} I enjoyed episode 1. I actually quite liked Rachel. She's, appropriately, strange. But in an intriguing way. I do want to know more about her.
This does just seem like additional fluffer to add to the series though. Knowing some of the background is really cool, but it isn't at all necessary knowing what happens at the end of LiS Proper.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I love this series so much. I can't wait for LIS 2 next year but this is a great distraction in the meantime.
There's a lot of intrigue out of E1. It did a great job of giving Chloe more backstory and explaining why she was the way she was in the original game. It's interesting to see her work out who she is, following a cooler kid as she works out her own style. I think many can relate to that.
The ending of the episode was fascinating. Who is the woman that Rachel's Dad kissed? Why was she there smoking next to a forest fire!? Rachel's screams seemed to effect the environment too, is Rachel the storm from Season 1? Is the storm Rachel from beyond taking revenge on Arcadia Bay as she never escaped. Is she getting more and more angry when Max keeps saving Chloe from death, delaying their reunion?
I hope this makes sense haha, just typing as I think!

I love how the new backtalk gimmick is essentially Ace Attorney Investigations 2 Logic Chess all over again.

If you thought Rollins and Ambrose had a rough time before Summerslam....

Episode 2 drops Thursday. And I'm pissed because I was sure it was today. Was all looking forward to having something to pick me up after work. sigh.... (FYI, I accepted the hell out of that fist bump. David's a mean dick, but he did prove to care in the original)

Episode 2 was... okay. Not a lot happened until the big reveal at the end of the episode. It just seems like this whole adventure is kind of pointless knowing Rachel's eventual fate.

How have they made this work without the whole time travel type thing from the original?
Is it just a straight forward adventure title or is there some sort of hook/gimmick like Max's time reversal stuff?

Is it just a straight forward adventure title or is there some sort of hook/gimmick like Max's time reversal stuff? It's mostly a straightforward adventure... Chloe sometimes has an option to "backtalk" which is a QuickTime multiple choice response to what people are saying, and if you answer a few with the right responses you get what you want.

Just finished episode 2. I lost it when I saw this: {Spoiler} {Spoiler}I totally called the junkie looking lady (Sarah?) being Rachel's real mother. Thought she looked a lot like her and as soon as I we met Rachel's parents. I noticed how her parents look nothing like her.
Also, got no option for Chloe and Rachel to kiss. I'm kinda mad.

I didn't root for Chloe and Max as a couple at all in the original but really am for Chloe and Rachel. Generally I find Chloe so much more likeable this time and Rachel is a great character. It's sad knowing what eventually happens to her!

It's sad knowing what eventually happens to her! I fell for Chloe and Max being a couple right around the swimming pool scene, but the final episode sealed it. And after reading Chloe's Max obsessed journal in BtS, it makes me happy I took the ending I did. I love the Chloe and Rachel couple too. And I loved it right from the get-go. Episode 3's going to be super sad.

Chloe and Rachel just seems right. I wonder if Rachel will disappear in Episode 3 or if it ends even before that.

Playing as Chloe has been intriguing. The first episode had me being a complete asshat in most of the situations, but I felt a bit more empathetic for the second one. Maybe I was just in a better mood for the second episode, but I almost feel like progressing the relationship between Chloe and Rachel had me making a bit more kind-hearted decisions, whereas in the first episode I was doing what I felt bitter Chloe would do. {Spoiler}And yeah, I couldn't resist doing the kiss, though taking her wristband was actually fairly tempting considering that possession of her wristband was a bit of a plot point in the first game.

Obviously Chloe was tatted, and I remember Rachel's missing person poster mentioned tattoos. I almost convinced myself that that moment was when they decided to get ink together.
But I had to go with the kiss, and I'm glad I did.
