Well, so much for going undefeated. Not the way I wanted to start the season. Give a lot of credit to KC. They made huge plays on both offense and defense. Great game by Alex Smith. I was worried about the defensive front seven all preseason and tonight didn't help especially once Hightower left. They couldn't pressure the QB or cover. I wouldn't be surprised if the Pats convince Rob Ninkovich to come out of retirement. Still there's no panic here. The Pats generally struggle early in the season before they figure things out and finish strong. As a great man would say "We're on to New Orleans."

The Madden Curse claims another one Too early to claim it has. Remember that even though even myself thought the Patriots were gonna win, the Chiefs may be the one AFC team that can matchup well with New England. Also remember we've seen this before where the Chiefs massacred the Patriots and the Patriots still won the Super Bowl. But it is a big win for Kansas City and they seem to be the top team if you go by one week. The big thing about this game that no one is really talking about is the injuries. For the Patriots, both Dont'a Hightower (who without him, that NE defense is nothing) and Danny Amendola got hurt. For the Chiefs, Eric Berry (a man who may be the heart and soul of that defense), Tyreek Hill (a huge offensive weapon) and Marcel Peters got hurt.

I know it only week one but to see KC own NE was a shocker. I am more a KC face than NE so this was fun to see.Sure there will be 100s of excuses and that NE will dominate the rest of the year. All I will say we will see.

Pats defense got roasted by Alex Smith and now have to go face Brees in the Superdome next week. Good luck

I hope the defense tightens up for their sake because if f***ing Alex Smith racked up 350+ passing yards on you, you already know Brees is gonna get up in that ass.

There's nothing more satisfying then watching the Patriots eat humble pie and crow. Especially after that circle-jerk to start off.

The Patriots look like shit I couldn't be happier. I hope they bring Mark Wahlberg back out postgame to try and talk more shit about how they're the greatest thing since Jesus after this. Let's see. He goes to the Super Bowl and the Pats stink up the joint. He leaves at halftime and they pull the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history. Now he returns and they suck again. I think I may have found the problem.

Gronk dropping the ball in the endzone in the first quarter is what turned that game around.

Chiefs fear that Eric Berry has torn his Achilles tendon

First the Chiefs had a great game plan for sure, but man were they same Reid team with awful penalties or what.
As for Patriots. They looked like crap on both sides of the ball. I'm confident the offense will be fine, though Brady talking about lack of urgency and stuff was interesting.
Now the defense on the other hand, this could be bad. As others have said the front 7 is bad and even with a healthy Hightower they're just pretty good.
I don't mind teams celebrating a win, but man if the Chiefs after that last touchdown yacking at the crowd and locker room talk from Kelce didn't reminded me of the when the Browns beat the Pats and Josh McDaniel's Broncos beat the Pats and that being their Super Bowl.
Finally The Chiefs won the game, but lost Berry maybe for the year who was awesome covering Gronk. Then Hill and Peters both came up limping. OH! and remember Chiefs fans, you still have Andy Reid coaching. So have fun with this win because if these teams play again this isn't happening I'd bet my FAN username on it.

A couple of years ago, the Chiefs beat the f*** outta the Patriots; I mean just unmercifully so. The next day, all the sports talk goes: "Is New England done?"
Then they won the Superbowl.
They ain't done until someone stakes Belichick.

Yo Kareem F***ing Hunt Hes gonna be a major Fantasy Football Week Two get, and to the people who stashed him? They're walkin on sunshine right now. Forget stashing him, I drafted him. Started him this week too. Now watch him rush for -10 yards and lose 5 fumbles next week.

It's first game of the season they're always weird, If it's week 5 and Pats are still getting smashed then it's panic stations
Even in Soccer the first games are often odd

Week 1 usually kills my pick'ems because anybody can win. I can ace the rest of the year and still can't catch up to the guy who goes 16-0 Week 1. May as well toss a coin to choose between teams.
That said, I picked KC, so yay.

Not good to lose your first game and be down 3 receivers and your best linebacker. Double ouch.
