Hi I'm Eunos. and yup, I enjoyed the episode. Call me bias if you want but yeah, Good to see me boy Rumble get his moment and Thunderlane getting a big role to  Also Minuette has a brother... Who knew? It delivered well done. Also the nice twist that Rumble didn't get his Cutie Mark. Come back again Rumble.. Don't be a stranger  |

One little nitpick continue era I might note.
If we go back to the Journal book episode, it seemed they got the idea for Cutie mark camp there.
This episode no mention of it.
Doesn't ruin anything but It's not just something I can overlook either.

So is Rumble the only pony to share its name with a Transformers character? I know that at least 2 of the G1 ponies shared names with GI Joe characters (Ace and Firefly). Also, aside from Thunderlane, this may be one of the few episodes to not have any adult ponies.

#5: SWEETIE BELLE The Mini-Marshmallow makes her entrance as my fifth favorite of the MLP top 30. Be she squeaky or non-squeaky, Sweetie Belle is the adorable, sometimes level headed, sometimes super angry member of the CMC. I love that she sometimes wants to be like Rarity, but more often than not wants to be her own pony. Favorite Sweetie Belle moment: Sweetie Belle and Rarity bond (Sisterhooves Social) |

"Marks And Recreation"...gets a 7/10. Pros: -Kettle Corn was a cute and adorable filly and anypony who likes something Japanese is A-OK in my book.  She is my personal highlight of the episode and I looked forward to every scene that involved her, be it circle painting or haiku poetry. Hope she appears again down the line. -Was surprised to see Thunderlane back again and in such a big supporting role, too. Of the two brothers, I found him the better one and I liked his little anecdote about cooking. Yeah, good to see him again. -It had some humorous scenes (Sweetie Belle's anger or Rumble's nonchalant attempts at "failing" at everything. -And again pretty good pacing (only 5 more episodes until I have to stop bringing that up). Cons: -It felt like a pretty ho-hum kind of episode to me. While there was a conflict, I did not feel as engaged in it as I did with other episodes before. Rumble's problems did not draw me in, the song was perhaps the most unmemorable in Season 7 (sad that it had to end on that song) and the episode just felt like it trotted along at a too leisurely pace. While it is not as bad as some other episodes, that one just feels so...unremarkable (pun not intended). Still enough for 7/10. |

So Cutie Marks in a way represents growing up. I thought I whole blank blank forever was like saying "I never want to grow up". Also the word blank blank has taking a while new meaning, it used to be a word to put someone down, but it was said a lot in this episode especially by the CMCs.
Anyone get the impression that Skeedaddle had a crush on Kettle Corn, I think if we do any next generation stories they are one of my couples. And Sweetie Bell trying to be clam was hilarious, she really is Rarity's sister. Nice to see a Wonderbolt get focus without Rainbow Dash appearing.
This episode had a good lesson of being open to anything, I really liked this episode and seeing the CMCs be the grown up of the episode and help others like the adults have helped them before.
So all and all a good episode, even though we continue with the lack of any true follow up on Diamond Tiara's redemption. I really want that and it is never happening.
