"It's Not The Mane Thing About You"...gets a 9/10.
Pros:
-The theme of the story was brought forward really well along with some twists and turns along the way. Rarity's dilemma in that she thought everypony thought so highly of her because of her mane (where in actuality it was because she made herself invisible through her cloak) which caused her confidence to drop. Loved how each of her friends tried to help her to varying success and how everypony got to play a part in it and ultimately getting her confidence back by bringing up all the good Rarity had done. The follow-up to that is Rarity coming up with an amazing new look that proves that she manages to be drop-dead gorgeous, no matter the circumstances. And it leads to everypony that she helped previously not viewing her any differently than before since she is still the same pony on the inside than she was before. Also really nice touch with the photo shoot that manages to keep it from a quick-fix ending (which I thought it would be when they went to Sugarcube Corner at about 1 1/2 minutes to close) and giving that part a happy ending nonetheless.
-Really awesome array of pony reappearances: The Flower Trio (including my lovely Lily<3), Bon Bon, Filthy Rich, Davenport...even going so far back to get a one-shot pony from Season 1 (Mr. Breezie) back into the fold and giving him a speaking part! Really love the attention to past seasons that the show does.
-Really good seeing Zecora back again and she has not lost her style (or her rhyming dictionary). I kinda have it in my headcanon that she intentionally told Rarity that she would not be ready to brew the potion in time for her photo shoot to enable Rarity to find the true beauty in her again. Certainly would not put it past Zecora.
-A really hilarious episode as well. From Rarity's facial expressions to the mane six trying to fix, it had some really laugh-out-loud moments.
-Let's say it like this: If Season 7 can keep the trend of having episodes with near-perfect pacing, I will refrain from using it as a positive from Season 8 on.
Cons:
-The only thing that really bugged me is how the Pinkie story completely fell by the wayside once Rarity's mane turned into the base for her rock chick look. While I am happy with the Rarara part, it felt kind of odd that they seemingly forgot about that part until the end when they suddenly brought it back. I guess they had to (otherwise, we would have wondered what happened to Pinkie all those months before), but it still makes it seem weird. Kinda think that perhaps with a few rewrites, they could have made this episode work without Pinkie being thrown in?
But, nevertheless, it is a 9/10 episode to me.

Not seeing too many complaints about the most episode, but it does seem like the main one is the last few minutes of the episode, that it seemed rushed and the lesson should have been "My mane isn't everything, and I will succeed without it being normal."

Uhm, didn't the latter happen before the rushed part (not directed at you, Grey).
Just because Rarara found a look that works with her ruined mane, does not suddenly mean that she thinks her old mane was rubbish.

Don't really see what much else you could have gotten from Pinkies side of the story, Nope I'm fine with it just Ford Focusing on Rarity personally.

That's why it would have been better perhaps to write the episode in a way that one could have dropped the Pinkie part.
