I loved Goosebumps back in the day. My favourite series when I was a kid. That one where the kids keep trying to scare a girl and failing was always my favourite, well that and Horrorland. A theme park run by monsters intended to just scare the crap out of people is a really good, fun concept.
Anyway, I enjoyed the review. Dead House is one of the better Goosebump's books imo. I remember when I reread the series last year quite enjoying it still whereas some of the others I just felt were shite. I'll definitely give the other reviews a read when they're up.

Bravo. I loved Goosebumps as a kid, and was lucky enough to have every single new one bought for me when it came out. My local store stopped stocking them at some point, but if I remember correctly I had the first 40 or so... my mom then gave them away after they sat untouched on a shelf for awhile. I haven't read any of them since childhood, so this should be fun!

I still have a bunch of my old Goosebumps books, but I eventually kind of fell out of it and got a lot more into Fear Street, which I also still have a good few of. Kind of wondered about trying some reviews of some of those at some point or something.

I remember I read an RL Stine book where someone was murdered via strangulation with rollerblade laces, and younger me thinking "This is so much darker than Goosebumps! I like it!" Then I never followed through and read another one from that series. My next collection of books was then Animorphs.

Good review of Welcome to Dead House. My teacher introduced us to the series in Primary 5 (age 9-10) with The Ghost Next Door, Piano Lessons Can Be Murder and Dead House in that order. They hooked me on all things horror, but I was glad to quickly find out the entire series wasn't quit that grim all the time. Especially Ghost Next Door, that one was practically a life changing experience for young me.
Good old RL Stine. He got kids reading, and when I looked over a few (of the better) books a year or two ago, I was surprisingly cheered at how much they stood up, a kids books. A bit like a Twilight Zone book series, as you suggest.

In terms of backlog, I have up to book 23 done currently with the other eight ready to work on before I finish this half for the month of October. So, I'll have a book reviewed each day going forward. Won't limit this to a Halloween thing if it gets decent traction. I only plan on doing the initial 62, but again if the reaction is strong, I might dabble in other stuff.

Monster Blood is a bit of a mess, but it was surprisingly popular at the time, hence all the many, many sequels. Mind you, Deep Trouble got a sequel, but we never returned to the walking scarecrows. No justice.
I really enjoyed Say Cheese and Die at the time.

Curse of the Mummy's Tomb is, alas, rather dire and slow moving as you say. I'm enjoying these reviews though, especially the clear affection there appears to be for the books, even if a good few of them aren't that great. Interesting to see if that lasts, or how it develops for some of the books which were really good. (There's a few of them right round the corner, though I'm not sure any of them have mirrors...)
Keep up the good work - I'm enjoying it.

Andy is probably what made Monster Blood catch on, I think. She was more memorable than most supporting players in these books tended to be.
Say Cheese And Die, I'll always remember for Ryan Gosling being in the TV version of it as the lead.

I think this was my favorite one as a kid, but I can't specifically recall as to why.
