Well, looks like the NBA (kinda sorta) found a way to get around the "all the stars are in the West" thing for the All Star game. It will now have two captains selecting teams, regardless of what conference players are in. The two players with the most fan votes (yes, I'm being serious) will be the captains. Although, it should be noted that there will still be 12 players from each conference. So basically Lebron and either Durant or Curry. Part of me hopes that it's Lebron and Durant with Lebron getting the first pick and purposely not picking Westbrook so that Durant has to pick him last.

After what happened in the All Star game last year, might as well try something new if only to prevent the first 200 point game.

So, I was watching SportsCenter & they were going on about adopting the WNBA model of playoff qualifying, whete the 16 best teams get in the playoffs, regardless of conference.

People have been championing that idea for a few years now and I def agree Year after year i'm getting tired of seeing below .500 teams make it into the playoffs I'm afraid this year the 7th and 8th seed in the East will have that same result I think the NBA should def take a hard look at this idea as I think Adam Silver can get both the owners and players to buy into this

It's good they're trying something new but I'm not a fan of this. It's hard to watch a game made up of two random teams. At least east/west there's some kind of rooting interest.

So with the changes to the All Star game, how long before talks shift to addressing the Playoff Disparity?

So with the changes to the All Star game, how long before talks shift to addressing the Playoff Disparity? Steph Curry actually brought that up yesterday.

Man Dirk looks like shit. Father time waits for no man Yeah I'm seeing the game right now and he kinda looks like an English teacher. He barely runs the court or sets screens. The jumpsuit is still there though.

Last year you can tell he looked hold and we will see come the season if his legs is gone He's still good for the jump shot but don't expect him to take you off the dribble to much anymore

I like the idea of distributing the best players evenly between the two All-Star teams rather than just betting on on both conferences being equally good every year.
I'd be okay with every sport doing it. It makes the game more interesting without putting some nonsensical stakes that don't need to be there for an exhibition.

Simmons and Fulltz looked fantastic
Them and Embiid healthy could shock some teams.

Simmons and Fulltz looked fantastic Them and Embiid healthy could shock some teams. I got Philly as the 8th seed team in the East this year with like 38 wins They have the Raw talent and they will make mistakes because their young but the East is pedestrian this year that you can't really count anyone out of the 7th and 8th seed and assuming they are healthy Philly should be able squeak in there

It's preseason you can't be expecting him to be going all out are you? Carlisle has also said that Dirk will be playing less minutes during the regular season anyways. I think this season will be Dirk's last one.
