Had to work surprise overtime last night so I missed the draft. The Kings did what I think they should have done all along. Doncic went to Dallas, which is a huge get for them, but a tad weird that they didn't have any interest in Bamba when they've needed a center since.....forever? Still, can't blame them getting Doncic for a very reasonable price. Atlanta desperate to be relevant moreso than good. For them to come out of the top 6 with the worst prospect and a protected future 1st when some people think the best prospect in the draft fell to them is pretty bad. Carter was a kinda late riser. Bulls putting together the most B- roster in the league. Dunn, LaVine, Lauri, Carter, Portis. Like dead on 8th place team in the East. Porter is interesting in Denver. If he ever hit his ceiling with Gary Harris, Jokic, and Murray who broke out last year....interesting team. They prefered Barton with the 2nd team anyway. Suns moved up to get SGA as expected. So what does Orlando do with Vucevic now? If you've got Bamba and you're gonna max Gordon, he gone. Yes, as I been saying before Kings made the right choice and I think it’s a little ungrateful for Kings fans to be upset about a guy who wants to be there but I digress Mavs made a great move in getting Doncic. However, I think ATL had the best draft. They rebuilt their team a bit and at least have a bright future Porter will be the steal of the draft if he’s healthy. Vucevic is on his last year I believe. If anything they are trying to move Biyombo right now since his contract is stupid. Bamba starts the season on the bench and they trade Vucevic during the season.

Al Horford would care to disagree. Embiid ended the season walking back on D with his hands on his hips. Dude should be more concerned with actual running than running his mouth, but Embiid gonna Embiid.

Well it was a miserable season for the lakers. I think we've been on the bottom for the fifth straight year. The future looks bleak, Magic's plan depends on George and Lebron going to LA. If that doesn't happen we'll suck for another year since Pop hates the lakers and will never trade with them. Did we even watch the same team? They are improving. 35 wins and the Clippers are our bitch again. We are just getting better.

Now we're seeing another reboot where everything depends on Lebron signing.

Stupid ass franchise leaving me feel like I got punched in the stomach. I'm so beyond pissed, and I hope the G1C booed the Christ out of the pick. We cheered. I was smashed the entire time.

Yeah, I saw the G1C tweets and I'm actually glad. Can't be mad at the kid because the guys running the show are morons. Speaking of morons, apparently WCS, Skal and Bagley can all play the three now. Sure, Vlade.

My draft tickets were worth it to see Knicks fans get pissed off right before my eyes when they didn't pick Porter.

I'm glad the fans on the Knicks subreddit actually know some basketball and really loved the Knicks' draft night. Makes me feel better about some intelligent people in our fanbase versus the idiots at Barclays Center last night.

People at Barclays were clearly looking for attention even the kid from a few years ago with Porzingis. Knox can ball and he can step in right away and contribute
Sure Porter could be a massive game changer but that back injury is too scary to invest in at number 9

I think it says something about MPJ that Jerry West, with two picks in the top 14, passed over him. He could've taken Porter on a flyer and he didn't and West IMO is one of the best talent evaluators in NBA history. If he passed on him not once, but twice, it tells me something was up.

Carmelo Anthony does not intend to opt out of his current contract with the Thunder, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.
That deal gets worst for OKC

He'll be in Houston next year on a veteran deal anyway

Yea Clippers could have used him for sure especially as they entered a new era and they passed up on him twice
If the back injury didn't flare up again he'd more than likely would have went top 10 if not top 5
The ultimate best you can hope for is that like Tracy McGrady who came out of H.S. with back problems he has an explosive but albeit short prime where he can be considered one of the best players on the planet for a few years but the back injury is what will always hold him back

I'm really glad they discontinued the Orlando Summer League and that everyone takes part in Vegas this year.
I can finally watch the Pacers!

Zach Lowe apparently says the Vlade taking Bagley, calling him a 3, and saying we're a young superteam is the new rock bottom for Sacramento. Also the Philly pick swap trade is the most lopsided in NBA since he's been covering, even worse than the Nets/Celtics winner.
Lol.
I hope Dallas signs Boogie so I can just root for them.

After the first 10 picks of the draft, selections 11 through 60 are essentially rolls of the dice. There's no sure things that late in the draft and teams aren't exactly seeking gamechangers, so you're just drafting with the hope that the player will pan out. With that said, I really like taking Michael Porter Jr. at number 14. It's a risk, given his health, but before his back injury, he was a fairly consensus no. 1 pick heading into the 2017-18 season. He's clearly got the talent, and back injuries are especially risky, but if he can stay healthy, he has the skills necessary to be a solid second option for Denver behind Nikola Jokic. That's the difference between drafting Greg Oden first overall and taking Porter at 14. When you're drafting that high, you have to hit and injury risks are an enormous consideration. But when you're choosing 14th, you're given a little more leeway and there's more room for error.
