Asked around, supposedly AWF is one of 2 FeDS in AL that makes a profit off each show. So Fat Fake Doink is doing something right. He is smart, usually he runs tiny rural towns. Where there is nothing to do. So any kind of event draws. IIRC Playboy Don has mentioned how a donkey basketball game drew a huge crowd in his area for the same reasons. AWF is aimed at ,and i kinda hate this word, marks. It isn't aimed at smarks, smarts or IWC people. Holy shit Donkey Basketball is a real thing

Around here any local schools sporting event is usually close to full. And stuff like the 2 times a year county fair/lions club fair draw huge crowds. When BIW was running 5 go 6 shows a year at the county civic center they were drawing 250 to 300 every show. Even the community theatre and MS high school of the arts plays draw big crowds. People in lots of rural areas want cheap good entertainment. Sadly for some it is ,as you mentioned, drug abuse. Drugs or Alabama Doink? I'm picking drugs. I figure you are joking, but most rural town's have bad hard drug issues. The area of MS I grew up in is riddled with meth labs. And where I currently live there is lots of prescription med abuse.

Wow, Mississippi and Alabama seem really depressing. With MS if you like hunting and fishing lots of the state are nice places to live. I don't care for either. But the gulf coast area of MS and major cities like Jackson,Natchez and Vicksberg are great. Lots of stuff to do. Plus it is cheAp to live. Got a friend that just moved to the gulf coast region of MS and him and his wife got a real nice 2 bed 2 bath apartment in a nice part of town for 450 a month. Which includes free basic cable. But then living on the gulf coast you gotta be prepared for a hurricane to hit every 5 years or so. Plus be able to deal with a hot humid summer that sometimes last 10 months of the year. Alabama is the same pretty much. Gulf coast area and a few big cities are great. The rest of the state is very rural, with not much to do if you don't hunt or fish. BTW here is the view from my living room. And the view from my back porch The building you see use to be a guest house. But we converted it into a workshop. The lake is a private lake. Many nights when the weather is nice I will go sit out on the pier and read, listen to music or watch tv or movies.

To advertise the match they used the pic of Heidenreich as a member of LOD and called him Road Warrior Hidenreich

If that's the same Vladimir Koloff, when did he start wearing a hood?
If it's not him (which would be my guess) that begs a greater question: why would you want to steal Vladimir Koloff?

I bet that 'Brymstone' doesn't even have custom boots.

I bet that 'Brymstone' doesn't even have custom boots. He doesn't even look like he owns ONE ring, let alone three, one with a trap door!

Naming a character "The Refugee" and putting him in a Lucha mask may actually be (slightly) less culturally insensitive than anything WWE have done in the past.

I'd be disappointed if The Franchise Chris Black doesn't come out to a deep purple tribute band.

I'd be disappointed if The Franchise Chris Black doesn't come out to a deep purple tribute band. He doesn't. He got the Franchise nickname in the last few years. After Shane Douglas did a seminar for Chris Blacks SCW fed. Chris says he asked permission and Shane granted it. Others have hinted that Chris gave Shane some money. No clue which is true. Nice to see Frankie Thomas on the card. Dude is a good wrestler that can make almost anyone look good in the ring.

Yeah, I'm sure that's one of the five Doinks from WWE. Hilarious marketing. Theres tens of thousands of things someone can do with their time, rather than see this embarrassing display of wrestling. I would be so embarrassed to be there. Hell, I'm actually embarrassed from just reading that thing. Bob Backlund Jr.? Excuse f***ing me? No, he's the son of Bob BackLAND. A completely other legend. I'm sure some of these people have trouble looking at themselves in the mirror. The others, probably stand there and are like "Oh yeah, I fooled 6 really really stupid people this week and got $80. Life is good...ish."

If I actually paid 10 Dollars to go to an Alabama Wrestling League show, a backwoods indy, with a main event featuring a fat Heidenreich, a fat Fake Doink, and the logo of the company actually being a ripoff of the Old TNA Logo, I think I would have severe depression by the end.

Jeezy pete's, I went to their website and MAN, is that thing a bummer. Still better than the tna website... I wonder what the fans thought when Heidenreich didn't look like the poster of his younger self. Man it bums me out that Alabama Doink makes money while better indies barely scrap by.

Man it bums me out that Alabama Doink makes money while better indies barely scrap by. I can say with almost certainty that being something like an Arby's night shift supervisor anywhere around the country likely earns more money yearly than Alabama Doink does.
