I have genuinely no earthly idea what the Man of Steel theme sounds like. Yeah, me neither. Mentally I keep coming up with something more atmospheric than anything, but it just isn't forming notes in my head at all. Had to look it up so here it is Yeah, nobody is humming that while playing with toys.

Yeah, just like the Batman theme Zimmer did for the Dark Knight trilogy, it's not a bad piece of music, but it's not exactly what one would call catchy. Of course, the same people who are getting bent out of shape over this are the same ones who pissed and moaned about Elfman reusing the Keaton theme in Justice League over the theme used in BVS.

Ok, now I want to see everyone who made that complaint post videos of themselves playing with their DC figures while humming that tune. No vid, your complaint is invalid.

Just when you thought the Captain Marvel "Brie Larson Hayes white guys" fuss was the dumbest thing you'd hear about in 2019, Shazam is presently being dogged by pissed off fanboys over a scene of a kid playing with Superman and Batman action figures while humming the John Williams Superman theme and not the Zimmer/Junkie XL MOS/BVS Supes theme, leading to the director having to clarify that it's a trailer-only addition. The pro Zack Snyder fanboyz......really are a whole other level of trouble. Marvel should kneel at Stan's grave every single day and be glad their problem children are what they are.

I'm on a message board where most of the discussion is primarily about complaining about oiled up men pretending to fight in their underwear and yet this theme thing is the saddest thing I've read all day.

I felt the "Flight" theme would've been better off as the Superman theme for Man of Steel. It's a very beautiful piece of music and has an inspirational feel to it too.

I have genuinely no earthly idea what the Man of Steel theme sounds like. It's Zimmer, so probably a bunch of chicka-chicka-chickas strung together.

This sounds less like a Superman theme and more like the theme Microsoft would use in television commercials to introduce their latest version of Windows.

Anyone here catch the early showing? Not doing it anywhere in the state for me but a friend's going to see it in a couple hours. Early word of mouth seems pretty positive.

Honestly, this is the last bit of Hans Zimmer music I could hum or sing off the top of my head.

Just caught the early screening, it's really fun. A little long like all DC movies, but it's got plenty of laughs and heart. It's the anti-Snyder DC movie.

I was just coming on to give my thoughts and this pretty much sums up my opinion as well. I really enjoyed it and I'm definitely looking forward to what they might do with the character in the future.

Caught an early showing and loved it. Captures the spirit of the character perfectly. I’ll definitely catch it again when it’s in theaters. It’s fun and family friendly without feeling corny. Managed the strike the balance perfect i think. Really hoping we get a sequel.

Just saw it. LOADS of fun. They play it right. BIG with superpowers. People are gonna love it. While the DC heroes exist in it, good thing Snyderverse is dead. Wouldn't fit AT ALL. This is a blast though

I don't have much of an interest in Shazam because I've never really been a big fan of the character. But I am glad the movie itself is supposed to be good.
Also Hans Zimmer has to be the most overrated of the big movie score composers. Everything he does just doesn't stick out whatsoever and while it works well for background music, it's completely memorable. Like when I think "Superman music," I think of the iconic John Williams movie theme or the not-quite-as-iconic but still very memorable 90's TAS theme. Or hell, even the theme from "Smallville." If someone played the Man of Steel theme song for me, my reaction would be "Ok it's some Zimmer theme to a movie he did somewhere."

Early RT score has it at a 97% at the moment. Sounds like another win for not just the DC crowd but for superhero movies. And people say they’re growing dull at the box office.
Unfortunately couldn’t see it this weekend due to work but I’m definitely going to check it out once it hits theaters.

This is a blast though That was one of the positives I took from the business side. Just as they botched the initial films with a "Catch up to Marvel NOW" philosophy, I thought they'd be like "Quick, pretend none of that ever happened!" reaction, especially after Aquaman dismissed the events of Justice League with a single line. Shazam! firmly takes place in whatever state the DCEU now exists in, giving them the option to slowly and correctly pick the things that worked (Gadot, Momoa, everything in this movie), dump the things that didn't (anything that Snyder touched) and move forward from there. The two best references are the last proper scene (people went nuts for it in my theater) and the second post-credit scene, so hang on until the very end folks. The credits themselves are a pretty cute reference-filled cartoon as well.
