Buddy of mine saw it and said he found it entertaining, but didn't go into specifics. I don't Netflix so I'm gonna have to wait until a physical release.

Saw it yesterday. It was alright. I liked the world and the characters. Especially Joel Edgerton's character. Narrative just did nothing for me.

I enjoyed it. It felt unique, and Joel Edgerton was great behind all that makeup.

I love that the poster plays it entirely straight like it's not weird at all, though. That seems like the right kind of absurd. That said, why do they write "from the director of Suicide Squad" like it's a good thing? Having seen it, I'd like to believe that was a sort of fair warning. I can actually see a lot of parallels between this film and Suicide Squad: mostly that they're terrible movies that are visually frustrating to look at, carried mostly by Will Smith, and up and coming Australian, and an enjoyable one-or-two scene wonder in Ike Barinholtz. The only difference, cast-wise, is that Cara Delevingne was simultaneously forgettable and stand-out bad as Enchantress, while Noomi Rapace had me sold as a villain before she said her first line. There are some very unfortunate implications that arise from the hamfisted attempt at a racial allegory that I won't get into, but just so muddled and murky, both storywise and just visually. It's such a bad movie. Honestly, the only place where I'd break away from David Ehrlich's review, which calls this the "Worst Movie of 2017", is when he dings it as "A $90 million blockbuster that boasts all the production value of an episode of Charmed"; if nothing else, Charmed actually does something in way of world building. Bright prefers vague terminology, only rendered "important" by capitalization.

I feel this concept would have worked a lot better as a limited series.
Agreed with what Gambino said, there are other problems with this film- regarding some of the unfortunate implications with the fantasy characters, among other stuff. But maybe a longer run time could help better flesh out the details of this universe.
Like I said, it's not a bad idea on the drawing board. But what I got felt really muddled. The story didn't have much structure, and I don't mind morally grey themes, but most of the characters were either unappealing or flat.

The poster alone puts me off
Mind most of Will Smith's movies since "Enemy of the state" have been terrible

That said, why do they write "from the director of Suicide Squad" like it's a good thing? Ayer's filmography as both a writer and a director is a scattering of genuinely great movies surrounded by a whole lotta dog shit. Given that I gave up on this two thirds of the way in, I'd say this is easily closer to the latter.

I just wanna say I don't think I've seen Netflix push ANYTHING as hard as they're pushing this.
It was the first result of every search I've made since it was added. It's pretty clearly an action movie, so I understand it being plugged during a search for Die Hard, but you tell me what the hell this movie has to do with Scrooged?

What happens if someone doesn't watch it all the way through?

What happens if someone doesn't watch it all the way through? Best I can tell, Netflix's only revenue sources are memberships and sales from physical releases, and they use the hype for their original content to bring in new subscribers.

I liked it. It's not a home run but I liked it. They should consider making it a series, would give everything they set up in it room to stretch.

I LOVED this movie. Exactly what I was hoping it would be from the premise. I don't understand the hate at all.

Yeah, I would give this movie a 6.5-7 out of 10. Based on the reaction here I thought it was going to be the worse movie ever, but it was a decent two hour flick. It got cheesy towards the end but it wasn't terrible.

The reviews eviscerating this pile of garbage are wildly more entertaining than anything this film could have put on screen. It's amazing. And who would have thought that Max Landis disavowing this movie would probably be the best thing that could have happened to this project. Oh, also, they forgot to credit an entire team of makeup artists for the work they did. jezebel.com/makeup-artists-for-bright-say-theyre-missing-from-the-e-1821598593
