...Or Mortal Kombat, as the title bar wouldn't let me type. I'm watching the two original live action attempts at Mortal Kombat and it got me thinking about what a modern big screen movie adaption of MK would be like. There is that live action series and from what I've seen, I liked it. However, I am specifially speaking about a new movie attempt, so series doesn't count. I'm not too serious about this, but figured it be fun to discuss.

It's absolutely doable. MK's story is actually pretty dirt simple and hard to f*** up. I'd love to see it.

I'd much rather see an Eternal Champions movie.

I'd be down, though I think the original MK came at a really great time to grab the zeitgeist and hype around the series. I'd be really interested to see who got cast, though it'd be really hard to top Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, aka "The Guy We Cast as the Main Villain of Fighting Franchises", for Shang Tsung.

Batista is going to be someone for sure!
I’d be down for it, I’d love to see a good adaptation

As long as they don't overcrowd it like they did with Armageddon we should be fine.
Hell, if you wanted a more mature movie, with a few tweaks the story of MK9 could be a movie on its own.

Yep just adapt the latest MK give it a hard R rating and go from there.

Who would you guys have involved in the story? Besides the obvious like Sub Zero...would you cast a lesser known character or even create a new one for the movie? I doubt creating a new character for a movie would go over well, but still. Would you adapt any of the games stories or create an original? One thing though...imagining the effects and sets with today's techonology has me kinda wanting it. But then...same could be said for the DC movies and look how that turned out.

I think it'd be pretty cool to see a hared R gritty, brutal, and visceral take on Mortal Kombat. I just want to see an awesome Shao Kahn and not the whatever it was we received in Annihilation.

I'd say do a proper MK1 with the first characters of the original game, the sequel could follow exactly like the second game, and if they want to get absolutely batshit crazy with it just do a Ready Player One with the rest of the sequels.

Don't really have to follow or even introdouce her in any big way in the first movie in say a presumed trilogy. Could start off with Kotal Khans story and the second could be where the last game left off....corrupted Raiden and earth realm warriors now looking to conquer every realm which leads into the 3rd having the warriors of places like the neather realm have to work with earth realm to save every other realm from falling.

I'd say keep it MK1, but expand it to have Kitana on the hero's side, and Mileena, Reptile, Ermac, and maybe even Baraka on the villain's side?

I'd be alright with it, and they way they retconned some stuff in MK9 story mode would make sense here, like Quan Chi from the start.
However, and almost never going to happen, Injustice in the DC Cinematic Universe would be more what I would want, but that'll never happen.

As long as it's actually a good movie, then yeah I'm down for it.

I liked that "realistic" teaser trailer they did a few years back
I think they can easily pull off a few movies with the right direction
Adapting the game storylines with the comic tie ins wouldn't be too bad

I have no faith in Hollywood to adapt ANYTHING properly so no. I probably would have has much hatred for it, in fact, as I did for the Power Rangers reboot and the Ghost In The Shell live-action adaptation.
