I guess this means NBC is going to have to find a permanent replacement for Lauer on the Today Show. I wonder who they'll bring in... Brian Williams? Mike Tirico? (not likely to happen), Renee Young? (Not likely to happen as well) or will they go with some random local morning news anchor from some random local NBC affiliate.

I heard my mom saying something about "It's not a hoax" this morning. I guess this was what it was about.
Really at this point I don't know what to think about all this. I can't call everyone who complained a liar nor the accusees innocent, not my intention at all. But now I have to wonder how much was really serious, and how much are just nitpicky things. Are we going to be sensitive over, say, gift giving from a M-to-F employee?

Are we going to be sensitive over, say, gift giving from a M-to-F employee? with everything else - its about context, but yes, I could see multiple situations where giving a gift to a coworker is COMPELELY inappropriate. In an age where we're seeing an increasing number of men in positions of power not able to understand that they shouldn't grope, take their dick, etc to coworkers I'm extremely dubious that they'd know the appropriate context/manner in which to give a gift. Also - no you shouldn't be giving coworkers gifts in general. If its like everyone in the department got together and pitched in on something? Okay - I see that, but there's something about giving a gift to someone you don't really know beyond work that can be easily creepy.

But I don't see everyone making moves based on fact. I see at least some people using it as a means to bring down people they just want to bring down, or worse, as an over-reaction to something...dare I use the dreaded S-word for frozen drops of rain?

And yes I heard about such an instance happening with someone at work. (hence me bringing that up in the first place...) I try to be generous and considerate to people I like or respect...but after that, yes, I'll tone down my holiday activities there.

To put it simply, if it was based off nothing, the guy wouldn’t be fired. He’d be suspended at the very least pending an investigation. Even without knowing descriptions of events personally, this seems pretty cut and dry to me.

Considering the reactions that Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Megyn Kelly had today on their Today shows, it had to have been something shocking. Especially as Kelly can empathize with the alleged victim given that she was on the receiving end of sexual harassment and misconduct herself.
