Dana White : Bribing Punk with hundreds of thousands of dollars to pretend to be his friend.
Sad.

he wants to transition to being a commentator? What he should have done in the first place honestly.

he wants to transition to being a commentator? What he should have done in the first place honestly. Agreed. He'd probably be happier. He could be a really solid sparring partner in his training camp, too. He doesn't need to compete. It's weird he even wants to, since he didn't even have an interest in getting his jiu jitsu belts when he started training.

there was talk of him having another fight... but he got rocked so hard in his first one I don't see there being as big an audience for him a second one as the first one was more or less built on... "Could he succeed at MMA?" and the answer was pretty emphatically answered no.
I don't know if he'd be happy being just a commentator either.

Maybe he's talking to Vince, too, and this is the drive the price up.

The irony of him mentioning keeping his stock valuable when he was in wrestling. At this rate, he's gonna keep devaluing his brand until eventually he shares table space with Virgil.
Phil, just swallow your pride and work the Cody/Bucks supershow or something else people actually want to see you in.

Maybe he's talking to Vince, too, and this is the drive the price up. Heh, Vince doesn't care because he knows Punk isn't going to be selling tickets. Punk as a commentator isn't going to do it and no one is paying to see him in the octagon again. Honestly, I don't see what value Punk has now outside of being a former wrestler. He could get a podcast, he could get a basic show where he hosts something, but he doesn't strike me as someone who would be happy with that. Honestly, he may hate it but he's seen as a wrestler, and while he might hate WWE, he is likely going to be at his most successful in a role that is part of wrestling, whether that is inside or outside the ring.

There's no future as an mma fighter, Dana will just feed him to someone to see if there's a market for watching Punk end up in the hospital again.
He got his ass kicked more than a year ago and I sincerely doubt he became a world class fighter during that time. Only way he would win a fight would be if he fought a literal tomato can like I'm talking Bumfights bullshit.
Ben Askren never got a chance in the UFC but a fake rassler actor in CM Punk probably made more than all of Ben's purses combined just by getting his ass kicked.

In about a week, I expect the Young Bucks to dump a truck load of money and Bullet Club shirts in front of Punk's house.

Punk will get an undercard fight. Probably an opening match spot on a PPV. He’ll get knocked out and he’s done. I can’t see a commentary position for him because I don’t think UFC fans will respect him enough for that after only having one fight and getting his ass handed to him as severely as he did.

Maybe this will be a "Give me something or I'm done" kind of thing. When you've had exactly one fight over a year ago and the boss has said he doesn't think you'll have another one, the career prospects aren't that high.

His UFC tenure is hilarious considering what he said about Lesnar, Undertaker and The Rock who are legit Wrestling legends who earned that part time status while he's a complete scrub fighter and walked straight into a UFC gig.

He's retiring? After 1 fight?
No surprise. A complete wash.

I don't know if he sees the irony of that situation, but yeah. He's basically done the same thing to up-and-coming fighters. And I like Punk.

Yea I think that was one of the reasons people begin to turn against him as well after he complained about that and walked into a grand situation where he doesn't have a leg to stand on as compared to legends coming back to wrestling
