A Garfield and Friends thread would not be complete without the famous Season 7 intro:

Was a show I never got to see much but always liked it when I did. Liked the shorts that were straight animations of the Sunday comic.

We are very close to the end of civilization as we know it.

The Creature That Lived In The Refrigerator, Behind the Mayonnaise, Next to the Ketchup and to the Left of the Cole Slaw! Garfield’s Tales of Scary Stuff! I loved that one! That and the cat eating plant Jon brought home! “The plant is waving at me?!?”

John: "Boy, I really need a new car..." *Turns on TV*
Man on TV: "Do you need a new car?"
John: "How does my TV always know what I'm thinking?"
Garfield: "Be glad someone does..."

I'm surprised people don't discuss Invasion of the Big Robots more often, where Garfield winds up in an action cartoon and had a contrast of styles. Plus, it was a deconstruction of serious shows like Transformers compared to silly shows.
In the final season, they also parodied the X-Men cartoon in a similar setup.

ABC will drag Charlie Brown out of the grave every holiday but CBS won’t give us some classic Garfield for thanksgiving Christmas and Halloween?
I appreciate the colorized I love Lucy, but kids need to know the greatness of the 90’s Garfield
