Didn't listen to many full albums this year, so I'll just stick with songs:
"Bodak Yellow" by Cardi B (that this knocked "Look What You Made Me Do" off the #1 spot single-handedly restored my faith in the universe) "LMK" by Kelela (my official jam of fall 2017) "The Louvre" by Lorde "I Know A Place" by MUNA "Skeletons" by Dihaj (WHY DIDN'T THIS WIN EUROVISION) "Cut to the Feeling" by Carly Rae Jepsen "Bad Liar" by Selena Gomez "Shining" by DJ Khaled ft. Beyonce and Jay-Z "Told You So" by Paramore "Black Beatles" by Rae Sremmurd ft. Gucci Mane

Mastodon, Kendrick Lamar, LCD Soundsystem, and and Gorillaz had some pretty good albums this year. I didn't much care for the "Everything Now" album but the title track has quickly become one of my favorite Arcade Fire songs.

This year I dug Styx's "The Mission", Mastodon's "Emperor of Sand" and "Cold Dark Place", and The Dear Hunter's "All Is As All Should Be" (which just released today).
Older stuff I've gotten into this year includes Coheed and Cambria's "Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV: Volume 1, From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness", The Renfields' "Go!" and Misfits' "American Psycho".

Liam Gallagher's album As You Were was really really good, "For What Its Worth" "Bold" "When Im In Need" and "Come Back To Me" are all really great songs.
and I also thought Noel Gallagher put out a solid release 2 weeks ago too, songs like "Its A Beautiful World" "She Taught Me How To Fly" and "Dead In The Water" are really great songs. so I say both Gallagher brothers put out really solid releases this year and had great songs to boot.

I'd add Soul Food with Jada/Fab, Fashion by Jay Critch on the songs list as well. Digging into my Japanese list i'd add Kana Boon - Baton Road as well

Last American Rock Stars mixtape (King Gordy and Bizzare of D12)
Young Wicked: Return Of The Prodigal Son
Other than that I don't think I even got any other albums in 2017, at least that were new releases.
And I really dig that Power Trip Swing Of The Axe song they used for Takeover War Games.

Oh, man. That Julien Baker record is just incredible. It’s so personal and confessional it can feel like you shouldn’t be listening to it. As you said, it’s incredible. And she’s a fellow Memphian to boot.

I was kind of hoping that there wouldn't be one of these threads, as I do have a favourite album of 2017, but I can't say what it is due to controversy (even though the album itself is completely inoffensive). That, and if I say what it is everyone will hate me.
My favourite album this year is actually a metal album. I'll leave it at that for now.
When it comes to 2017 rap, I've actually been slipping in that regard, as I haven't listened to any 2017 rap albums yet. I still want to check out Kendrick Lamar's DAMN and Tyler the Creator's Flower Boy eventually though.

Reserving judgment until I hear the new Morbid Angel album that just dropped, but as it stands right now, my favorite album is Relentless Mutation by Archspire. Perhaps the best tech death metal album and band of the last ten years.

Anyone else not keep up with current stuff like me?
I honestly haven't sought out new music since around 2004
