That is a fair point. I only mentioned it in absence of any other established Gungan character. Sure, I just have to imagine Jar Jar, post Palpatine takeover, being a total social pariah. Has it ever been commented on in any canon, new or old, what exactly became of Naboo, reputation-wise, after their biggest representative pulled a complete takeover Officially Jar Jar became a street clown of some kind and is now hated by everyone.

Yeah, sounds about right.

Instead of Jar Jar returning, Disney should cast Ahmed Best in a new role, maybe a rebel pilot, because he deserves the chance to play a decent role in SW after being thrown to the wolves by Lucas with such a shitty character.

Post-War The it became a rallying point for Imperial sympathisers. In the old canon it swayed from loosely pro-Empire to staying neutral, before becoming a New Republic stronghold following Palpatine's death, and eventually siding with the Empire in the Sith-Imperial War.

Huh, fascinating, where does the new canon intel come from? I'd love to read that.

Pretty much all of it comes from the Journey to the Force Awakens book series and short stories published in Star Wars Insider.
