They wrote an article last week I think complaining about the movie "Blood Diamond", because it featured Leonardo DiCaprio as an African. They seemed completely unaware that some South Africans are white. Serious?

I forget what the article was about, but it covered the movie School of Rock, which they clearly just read a spoiler free plot summary and started ranting. They got so many details incorrect.

Yep. Even their comments section was calling out their bullshit. I have a white South African friend who when on a Blind date had the girl storm off, abandoning him because she thought he was lying to her. He said where he was from and according to her "aren't African people like, black starving people in shacks?" He wasn't devastated when she left mid explanation.

Cramming that much ignorance, stereotyping, and casual racism into a single sentence would be impressive if not for just how offensive it is.

Yeah Mikey said he laughed at first because he thought she was joking, then he laughed more out of shock when he realised she wasn't. Tried to explain, and knowing Mike it would have been a very sensitive, non patronising attempt, quite how bad what she said was, but she wasn't for budging.
