Reports are that the bomber is still alive. Yeah. I've seen conflicting reports. Will edit first post.

I’m in NYC, was at Port Authority not too long before it happened. Scary stuff. The bomber is still alive and was taken to Bellevue Hospital (where I happen to work across the street from).

Well thank goodness most criminals aren't actually masterminds. Could have been a lot worse with better planning or bomb making skills.

As terrifying as terrorists are, few things make me laugh as hard as inept ones who only manage to hurt themselves. I think whatever God you're trying to slaughter innocents in the name of is trying to tell you something, mate.

I saw a post on social media that has stopped me from making light of this situation. Basically:
People in NYC: OMG,terrorism People outside: haha what an idiot. Was train late? How inconvenient.
This guy tried to kill people. I get it, f*** him. But man I'm glad no one got hurt badly or worse.
Shame that this is so prominent.

The important thing is that no one was killed or seriously hurt.
And Port Authority already looks like a bomb went off there, speaking as someone who has been there several times. Though it is a bit scary that someone tried. At least he failed.

And I've heard the opposite from New Yorkers, they're too busy to care, shrug it off, and go fight traffic or the subway.

It’s meant to point out that New Yorkers are hard nosed and can’t be rattled anymore.

Im not saying anything other than a perspective that comes from me.
I get the intent. But, as a person generally quite safe from this stuff as far as location goes. It can be lost. My first thought was a looney toon coyote acme joke.
But its safe for me to feel that way, because this is foreign to me.

New Yorkers and people in this area went through the mother of all terrorist attacks in 2001. A botched pipe bomb that didn't seriously hurt anyone is going to make us freak for a little but then sorta shrug it off.

Reports are that the bomber is still alive. So I'm guessing "don't be alive" was his only plan to avoid arrest?

If I know anything about New Yorkers, and I don't, I imagine it went pretty quickly to "this f***ing guy f***ed up our commute"

I just read that only 4 people were hurt, including the bomber.
I've been to the Port Authority before, and you could fall over in that place and hurt 4 other people.
This guy's even worse than those two morons last year who used phones with sim cards in their real name to try and bomb New York

So yeah...
