Ok now we all know Trips loved to book himself as the last Main Event match at Wrestlemania, so with the obvious exception of 20 (though I don’t think it holds up on rewatch and when the other 2 guys are HBK and Benoit it was always going to be good) were any of his other matches any good or that people would class as good ?

I've always enjoyed the 2000 main event, but that was my first Wrestlemania so it has a soft spot in general, despite admittedly being a fairly naff show.

2000's pretty good, he deserves credit as much as the others for 20, and I actually think the 21 main event is a great match. And the 22 one's a fine match really, the biggest issue with it is that as a story it doesn't work because the entire point was supposed to be Cena slaying the evil Triple H except absolutely nobody there wanted to see that happen.

Did Triple H take over WWE back in the early 2000’s? Cuz if not, I’m pretty sure he had no booking power and Vince booked him in those matches.

Triple H vs. Jericho should've been as good as the Raw 2000 and Fully Loaded match.
Instead all these were added to the storyline:

He has only missed one Wrestlemania since debuting in 1995. Some of his Wrestlemania matches are among the best ever (17, 20, 21, 28) and others are complete duds (12, 18, 19, 25)
WM12: Warrior WM13: Goldust WM14: Owen Hart WM15: Kane WM16: Rock / Big Show / Mick Foley WM17: Undertaker WM18: Chris Jericho WM19: Booker T WM20: HBK / Chris Benoit WM21: Batista WM22: John Cena WM24: Randy Orton / John Cena WM25: Randy Orton WM26: Sheamus WM27: Undertaker WM28: Undertaker WM29: Brock Lesnar WM30: Daniel Bryan WM31: Sting WM32: Roman Reigns WM33: Seth Rollins

This is where personal preference comes in, but I loved his matches with Reigns and Orton. I don't think he's had an outright bad Mania match.
The only thing I'd say for the Orton match is that they had a falls count anywhere match a little while before that should have been the Mania match.

The Cena match at WM 22 is fun for the crowd if nothing else but not a classic match. I'm baffled at the love the Batista match is getting. It was a thoroughly average affair, as was the Backlash rematch mainly because HHH just refuses to actually put someone over and make them a star even when he's in theory trying to make a guy. The HIAC match was easily the best HHH/Batista match.
As far as the best matches on that list, the WM 20 one is probably the best and the Bryan match would be 2nd best. But overall HHH is only as good as his opponent. He has never really been able to carry lousy opponents. And really if you look at that list he has had some real clunkers with some pretty decent opponents.

Mania 2000 was just okay at best. The ending sucked though since The Rock should have won the match. He won at the following PPV, but it’s kind of hidden in history a bit since people never talk about that since people always talk about the Mania match instead.
His match vs. Jericho at Mania 18 is very underrated. I really enjoyed it but it gets looked over due to Rock vs. Hogan being the match on the card that should have went on last.
Mania 20 is a classic. But honestly I always felt it was Benoit & HBK that made the match what it is way more than HHH. He deserves some credit though since he was in the match too, but if HBK wasn’t added to the match it would have likely just been good at best & not great.
Mania 21 vs. Batista was solid. It’s not a classic by any means but it’s a match I can go back & watch & be entertained by it. They had better matches though.
Mania 22 vs. Cena was good. It’s just not a match I like to go back & watch though due to not being a fan of either guy.
Mania 25 vs. Orton was horrible. One of the worst Mania main events ever. It should have been a no DQ match due to how violent the feud was leading up to the match.
Mania 32 vs. Reigns was really bad too. I was bored watching it & remember just waiting for it to be over so I can go watch the Walking Dead season finale that night. This had no right being the main event of a WrestleMania. I would rather have had Taker vs. Shane going on last even though that match wasn’t that good either but at least it was more entertaining than this.
So in the end, HHH had 1 classic, 3 good, 1 okay, & 2 awful Mania main events.

I honestly think his best WrestleMania match is his opener with Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 30.

Wrestlemania 20, 21, and 22 is a damn fine run of main events. 18, 25, and 32 sucked. 2000 was fun. Is that all of his?

I thought his Mania matches with Orton and Reigns are up there with the worst ever Wrestlemania main events of all time. Until Orton/Wyatt I'd argue it was between those two matches for the worst ever WWE Title match at Mania too. Different opinions at the end of the day. I haven't enjoyed a Triple H main event Wrestlemania match since 21.

I've had a hostile response to liking those matches before, which is surreal I know, but the nature of wrestling fans sometimes. Hunter is in my top 5 guys of all time, so I'm generally entertained by him regardless.

He has some excellent Mania matches and some dire Mania matches but most are somewhere in the middle.

I thought his Mania matches with Orton and Reigns are up there with the worst ever Wrestlemania main events of all time. A lot of it's exhaustion with the show itself being one long string of repeatedly yelling, "F*** you!" at the fans all night, but Reigns / Triple H is my pick for the outright worst Mania main event ever.
