I only caught the end of the segment but there were only two problems I had:
1. If they actually promoted Moolah, f*** that shit. She was a horrible person and no one should be celebrating her.
2. Why the f*** is Paige and co. hugging and crying with the other women? Haven't they been beating the shit out of them this whole time? We just drop that shit because a women's rumble was announced? How does that make sense? "Hey, I know Jim has kicked my ass for a month, but the boss says we're going to start having casual fridays! So bring it in, Jimmy!"
Other than those things, it was fine.

"Who cares about kayfabe?" Gee. Why is mainstream wrestling in the toilet? I wish WM 3 ended with Hogan hugging Andre and saying “thanks for putting me over, brother”. I can’t believe people accept the WWE doing this. What’s the point of watching a show that tells you that nothing matters because it’s all fake? I don’t get it.

The woman seemed legit excited at the end there, that put a smile on my face, who cares if it breaks kayfabe, Iam happy for the woman and excited for the match Exactly, ladies have been fighting to get these chances in the US companies for decades, their reaction to an announcement like this is spot on and real. Sometimes kayfabe takes a backseat to real life or they merge for a moment and this is one of those times. That isn't an excuse to me, it took me out of the moment, it didnt bring me into it. Yeah they worked hard to get it, maybe have some Fallout Segments expressing that, don't have the thing that has been forced down our throats for a month just drop because of this announcement. I'm sick of that kind of shit honestly, the whole REALITY ERA has grown extremely tiresome especially this year, the opus of it being Roman vs Cena. It just feels cheap and diminishes so much impact you could actually have with certain things, and this was yet another example. Just lame to me, good for the girls and all, but sell me on the match, crying and hugging doesn't do that. The segment sucked, the match might not, but the segment sure did.

Wrestling without atleast on screen kayfabe is just weird jerk off shit. I can't speak for everyone but for me, stuff like this kills matches. They've pretty much told me straight up on camera that these girls are all working together to have good matches. How do I buy into feuds after that?

Just do it as an announcement segment where all of them women have to be out there and can't fight or they will be suspended deal.

Could do without them breaking character and the moolah reference but screw it don't care. This is such an awesome moment. Really hope we can get someone like Lita, Trish, Molly, whoever else for this. It'd be nice to see a past women's wrestler get to be apart of this. Kinda hoping we get the Iconic Duo in it to see them work together and pull some shenanigans. Going to predict an Asuka win.

That ending was the definition of what has been said in numerous recent discussions that WWE has no clue what it wants to be and thus leads to a huge reason why WWE storytelling is complete ass.

These women showing real emotion for a minute or two over getting a chance at something they never dreamed possible ruins this whole thing? Sorry but that makes no sense to me. That real emotion is the sell of the match right now, they next six weeks is where the rest is set up. They have plenty of time to manipulate things and build more around the match than the history they're making. In less than 5 minutes people have written this off. 5 minutes and it's dead.

Like I really don't want some people getting it twisted, I'm super happy for these gals, they've worked their ass off through really terrible booking especially to get to this moment.
But this segment was trash, and people defending it for how hard they worked doesn't fly to me. This could have been so much better for the match and women involved.
Stephanie could have easily announced the match from the ramp, instead she front and centers herself like usual taking spotlight away from all the women to put herself as usual in the spotlight of "This is all because of me, not you", yeah she put the women over, but the presentation overall made her look like the figurehead, and made her seem like the most important, also she put over Moolah, which really knocks out all the shit she tried to put over.
What was even worse to me, was the fact that kayfabe was broken for it, it should have been like how NXT presented the War Games announcement, a big stare down, a big "OH IT'S ON NOW, EVERYTHING WE'VE WORKED FOR IS HERE!" or something. Some looking excited, some looking angry, staying in character, making you feel how this match is going to be. Not a big hugfest, a big "YAY US FOR SUCCEEDING". I already KNOW they've worked hard and succeeded, I want to be excited for THE MATCH, sell me on the match and why it's going to be awesome, saying it's HISTORIC and having everyone cry and hug just makes me cringe.
This really is the shit that turns people off to wrestling, you're supposed to get sucked in to a story and feel the impact of what is happening, this is like someone in the middle of a Play, coming out in the middle of the stage and announcing "FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, ROMEO AND JULIET WILL LIVE!" and Capulet's and Montague's starting to cry and hug, it takes me right out of everything, that's what this did, that's what Roman vs Cena did, and that's what WWE is continuing to do.
They aptly showed a 1999 Clip tonight where Rock and Jericho had a segment that was while meta, still incredibly in character and got me excited for what was coming next. WWE has completely lost the ability to tell that kind of story, and it showed tonight.

It'd be so much better / more progressive to NOT have the women break character at every single advancement. For real, lol. As both a woman and a fan, f***ing let me get invested in the story. I'm not asking for total insanity, but jesus, just give me something. Stop yelling in my ear that everything I'm watching is fake.

I'll give that and even said in the Raw thread that Steph causing the women to part like the Red Sea was way too much. I just think the reaction in the Raw thread and in here is the exact over the top thing that has made this place unbearable at times.
