Will never top WM17 With Austin and Rock breaking down in each others arms in celebration. I loved Tournament of Death 3 where Zandig carried Nick Mondo in his arms to the local hospital and kissed him on the forehead. "That match we had bro, we really did a great job working together to make it good!"

You know what isn't ruined? Pizza. Pizza is never ruined. OK, other than that hyper-gourmet shit, pizza is never ruined.

That isn't an excuse to me, it took me out of the moment, it didnt bring me into it. Yeah they worked hard to get it, maybe have some Fallout Segments expressing that, don't have the thing that has been forced down our throats for a month just drop because of this announcement. I'm sick of that kind of shit honestly, the whole REALITY ERA has grown extremely tiresome especially this year. It just feels cheap and diminishes so much impact you could actually have with certain things, and this was yet another example. Just lame to me, good for the girls and all, but sell me on the match, crying and hugging doesn't do that. These women showing real emotion for a minute or two over getting a chance at something they never dreamed possible ruins this whole thing? Sorry but that makes no sense to me. That real emotion is the sell of the match right now, they next six weeks is where the rest is set up. They have plenty of time to manipulate things and build more around the match than the history they're making. In less than 5 minutes people have written this off. 5 minutes and it's dead. The announcement and initial reaction is your hook, they did a terrible job, and their ratings are already plummeting as it is. I don't care how much time they have to build it, you have to SELL how good this is going to be to stay tuned. And the real emotion is the sell of the match?? Well, the real emotion just ruined the match for me, sorry if that makes you angry but it was LAME. They derailed what they'd been building up for a month for basically nothing. As I said I'm happy for them but this shit is just stupid and not an excuse for how badly it was presented. I didn't see the Women cry and hug for their Mania Match for the Womens Title, I didn't see Sasha and Charlotte break their feud to cry for Hell in a Cell, didn't see it for the Women's MITB either, for it to happen here, is stupid. And if you think that they're gonna make it more about the match than the History than you haven't been watching WWE with Women's Wresting the last three years, this shit is gonna be irritating to watch and listen to from commentary.

It was a great moment i mean they had waited so long for it so it totally didn't matter if it made no sense and we were just happy for them.

If they really wanted to go for that kind of reaction, they could have done it, but they shouldn't have led in with a six woman tag ending on a DQ and a locker room clearing brawl. Just do it as an announcement segment where all of them women have to be out there and can't fight or they will be suspended deal. I'll give that and even said in the Raw thread that Steph causing the women to part like the Red Sea was way too much. I just think the reaction in the Raw thread and in here is the exact over the top thing that has made this place unbearable at times. Why is it unbearable to hate that WWE constantly breaks kayfabe to try and sell a moment instead of actually building characters to actually tell a story and sell a match?? Like jesus if you had no problem with it fine dude but stop undercutting how people like me felt about it, we're not trying to be dicks we're expressing how we didn't like the segment. Clearly you liked how it was sold, I and others did not for some pretty justifiable reasons.

For the sake of not tiring out the crowd, why not have the Woman's Rumble on the Takeover? It isn't even a downgrade, since many fans will consider it the better show, anyway.

So this is how James Ellworth would had won his Women Title match at wrestlemania if he didn't get release.

Remember when Stone Cold hugged Shawn Michaels and cried when it was announced he was in the world title match at WrestleMania 14 and then they did Hulk Hogan's flexing poses together?

I'm really excited for a women's Rumble match, but I'm glad I missed that or I would have probably had to have been taken to a local medical facility (tm) from all the cringe.

How to solve this problem: Have Kurt or Steph state this at the top of the show.
Then give each of the girls time over the weeks to state what this means to them and build the hype.
This is great news but execution is everything.

To be fair to the hugging and crying bullshit, none of Paige’s crew hugged anyone besides each other and only Nia and Alexa did any actual hugging.
They still need to knock that shit off if they want people to invest in any story they’re trying to tell though.

If there's a positive to find about the match it's that maybe we will see some old faces or maybe even an NXT Debut or two, can't imagine the Pops if Trish or Lita make an entrance
or Jazzy Gabert who will be my personal want.

Honestly, I just find it insulting they keep doing this with the women. I feel it would mean so much more if they let the story do the building and not have Steph/whoever come out each time to push it with 'women are making history!'. That's great, mention it on commentary/social media...just let the women do their thing to build up a story.
When Stephanie came out they should have continued to brawl, security should have got involved trying to stop the fight and failed, and finally Stephanie should have just exploded and dropped the bomb. Then just zoom in on the Women's faces to show their looks of happy, determined, and shocked ect.

I didn’t see it, as I fell asleep and missed Raw, but I feel like I probably wouldn’t like it if it’s near what has been described. It’s cool that the ladies are getting their due, but I think that the WWE tries too hard to make things historic or whatever buzzword they’re using this week. To me it would have been a better idea to have Stephanie with a big announcement and ALL the ladies (Raw and SDL) are there and they celebrate with their allies at the announcement but then someone sucker punches someone and it leads to a big brawl instead of stopping a big brawl and singing kumbaya over the campfire.

Can the men's royal rumble end with all previous 29 superstars returning to hug the winner in celebration of his victory?
