And the "hit" was ordered by Graham, who was *definitely* 3 shades to the wind when he did so. Florida was the 'party' territory after all. In his youshoot, Kevin Sullivan admitted that everyone in the Florida territory did cocaine lol.

The part I find interesting is that later on, all three were on okay terms and treated the whole situation as just "one of those things"

Lol even while trying to jump a guy and outnumbering him, the Big Cat still beat the f*** out of them. At least Ernie was nice enough to drop them off at the hospital.

I guess it helped the only guys in a position to press charges would have explain just what exactly they were doing, and "We were going to orchestrate a pre-meditated attack when he hit us" isn't the best thing to go to the cops with, especially with wrestling in some places still trying to feebly keep their kayfabe going. Yeah, I really can't see what their play would be. "We were gonna go kick his ass, but he got the drop on us, arrest him"? Well it was in teh South during the 70s. So...Not mention they were going to attack him?

Graham's Florida was run like a crime syndicate putting hits on people. Piece of shit Bob Roop was another enforcer to hurt guys, well Blackjack Mulligan got tired of it and decided to beat the f*** out of Roop everytime Mulligan saw him.

Isn't there a video of roop stretching a guy because Graham told him to

But Karma is real, years later Blackjack Mulligan punched Roop so hard that the piece of shit needed reconstructive surgery on his face. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Bob Backlund said that Jack was a noted pothead. He got a ride with him and Dusty once, Jack fired one up and they rolled up the windows and locked them. Bob asked to have them roll the windows down. Guys just laughed. After a couple of more tries, Backlund asked them to pull over. Bob got out and walked all night to get home. They had a feud a while later and Bob didn't have an issue putting Jack over. "It was business." But Eddie loved Bob, so they tweaked it where Bob "injured" his knee so he could get an out.

It's one thing to be the promoter's enforcers and get rocked by the dude you're being sent to 'talk to', but if they ran to the cops, especially spinning some bullshit story about being jumped themselves, they'd become jokes and lose all the tough guy cred that had them in that position in the first place. Bonus points for Graham probably not being too happy they decided to bring cops into what was ostensibly a business situation.

The part I find interesting is that later on, all three were on okay terms and treated the whole situation as just "one of those things" I figure Ladd probably knew that it's not like the Briscoes had a personal stake in it, and they Briscoes probably figured Ladd had done what he had to do, as well. Cue Vince with the "garbage business" take on wrestling of that time.

How could one guy win a fight against two guy’s? Especially when it’s the briscoes? 1. He had a tire iron. 2. Ernie Ladd was a big, tough SOB.
