So I get the rebuilding of the relationship between them and NJPW (ignoring their status as a company, Anthem potentially cutting them at any minute etc) but...I don't understand why you're building so many relationships with companies in the same area at the size you are. WWE working with ICW, PROGRESS, OTT and PCW (the latter two probably have less of a relationship) makes sense because you have bases covered. Scotland, North England, South England and both Irelands. ICW rarely goes into London, PROGRESS doesn't go into Scotland, OTT doesn't go outside of the Irelands and PCW's in Preston. Nobody clashes for the most part and you get each sector of audience and talent. The thing with NOAH and NJPW is that they both perform in the same areas. The only real difference being NJPW is the only one that performs in the Tokyo Dome once a year so it seems a bit weirder to me. Same with CLASH and AAA, unless I'm getting my contexts wrong. It's kind of like when Jarrett started Global Force and announced working agreements with NJPW and AAA, and I was like "Are either of those companies happy with this, seeing how NJPW already is working with CMLL?" Pretty much, yeah. Like, if they were booking individual AAAand NJPW talent in America, there wouldn’t be as much of an issue but saying you’re associated with both just seemed like not being aware of the wider landscape.

When Jim Cornette was asked about Impact finally dropping the name TNA, he had a simple answer "too little too late, the stench is still there."
The same saying applies here. While Scott D'Amore is an upgrade over the eternal failure of Jeff Jarrett, deep down the company is still TNA. Ed Nordholm is still a f***ing idiot. The profit is still negative. Jeremy Borash is still lying about the loudest fans going backstage. Abyss is still rolling in thumbtacks. Why would Gedo send a young up and comer to this embarrassment excuse of a company?
You don't repair a relationship so broken overnight. It's gonna take years for D'Amore and Cyrus to mend the fences and repair the damage created by Vince Russo.

I don't know why NJPW would ever give them another chance after TNA booked a IWGP tag title switch without first getting the 'okay' from them. Then you remember how they treated Okada, and there's very little New Japan needs from a company like TNA now.

Why would NJPW want to downgrade working with them, when ROH is doing just fine for them and well at less the draw profit as a company and at this point is more of a fan base. TV deal whatever but nobody watching Impact or going to see them. D'Amore and Cyrus are on ship that has sunk and is beyond repair. The two of them starting a company from the ground up would be more successful, they are the right guys for the job but the Impact wrestling name and everything linked to it is all damaged goods that is forever tarnished.

Well Cyrus is part of the English broadcast for New Japan but you're right the brand is beyond tarnished, if NJPW would do anything with TNA would only be as a favor to him and that's not how you run a business.

ROH has a lot of affiliate stations and each one runs it several times on the weekend. There is no way TNA has more viewers

TNA may want it all they want but what would New Japan get out of it? They've started their USA invasion, work with ROH in the US, work with CMLL in Mexico and are making inroads into Australia & the UK. New Japan gain absolutely nothing from the relationship NJPW gains a tool to threaten talent to send them to Impact as a punishment.

Is Impact prepared to drop their relationships with AAA, The Crash, and perhaps Noah?

I'd laugh if NJPW accepted a deal, only to get Johnny Impact/Mundo/Neverending Names then in return TNA gets one of Yujiro's hoes.

Is Impact prepared to drop their relationships with AAA, The Crash, and perhaps Noah? No, they want to have their cake and eat it too. My thoughts is it is worth a shot to try to apologize and atone for screwing New Japan of the past, that said.......there is no chance for a real relationship as like many said....they have better options which they are already working with.

As noted earlier this week, tomorrow's Impact Wrestling will be a "Best of 2017" episode.

Impact sent legal letters to ROH and PPV companies right before the ROH 15th Anniversary Show over the use of the Hardys, which ultimately led to DISH not carrying the PPV at the last minute. Impact could have contacted ROH about this issue much earlier. This ended up costing ROH money. That was THIS YEAR. ROH has a close relationship with New Japan. Anthem owned Impact when this happened.
Impact works with AAA, the rival of CMLL. NJPW has a close relationship with CMLL.
Impact works with Noah. NJPW was reportedly blindsided when Noah was sold to Estbee. NJPW had been helping to fund Noah. Anthem owned Impact when they started the relationship with Noah.
Why would NJPW want to work with Impact? They have a strong relationship with ROH, CMLL, and RevPro.
