The last episode of NXT before the Holidays brings us two title matches and the final qualifying match for the big Four Way Number One Contenders Match!
*NXT CHAMPIONSHIP NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP QUALIFYING MATCH: Lars Sullivan vs. Roderick Strong *NXT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: SAnitY (Alexander Wolfe, Eric Young and/or Killian Dain) (c) vs. The Undisputed ERA (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly) *WWE UNITED KINGDOM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Pete Dunne (c) vs. Tyler Bate
In January 2017, Tyler Bate made history by becoming the first WWE United Kingdom Champion, winning the inaugural tournament in Blackpool by last defeating Pete Dunne in a classic match. In May 2017, that effort was topped at Takeover: Chicago, as Dunne won the title from Bate in what many people still consider the WWE Match of the Year for 2017. Tonight, more than six months since that night at the Allstate Arena, Bate finally gets his rematch for the title against the Bruiserweight. Will tonight's match top those two world class matches, and more importantly, will Tyler finally claim his title back, or will PETER cement his status as the best in the UK?
Following on from their win at War Games in Houston, The Undisputed ERA now go after the NXT Tag Team Titles held by SAnitY. There was a setback last week as Adam Cole failed to end the undefeated run of Aleister Black, but Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly will look to ensure that the Undisputed ERA's win inside the double cage was no fluke. There is one disadvantage though, as they won't know which two members of SAnitY will defend the titles, so they had better be prepared for all combinations...
Killian Dain, Johnny Gargano and Aleister Black are the first three men in the Four Way to determine the first challenger for Andrade "Cien" Almas' NXT Championship, and tonight we find out who the last man is. Roderick Strong is one of the gutsiest fighters in NXT, but no man has yet come remotely close to defeating the behemoth that is Lars Sullivan. Will his undefeated run be the End of Heartache, or will Roddy suffer a Freak Accident?
All this, and whatever else NXT has planned for the festive season, from 8/7c on the AWARD SNOWING WWE Network!

Bate/Dunne is always a guaranteed show-stealer

If it hasn't been obvious already, that was another reminder that Bate and Dunne are those dudes

That was one of the greatest, if not the greatest episode of NXT. All 3 matches were really good to awesome. Even the outside segment wirh Heavy Machinery and Sabby Moss was funny...guy!

I thought Sanity should have had a longer reign with the titles.
That Heavy Machinery segment cracked me up.
Dunne and Bate with another awesome match. The psychology on the fingers was clever.

Thought this thread would have been busier. Dunne/Bate 3 was awesome in a different way entirely to the first two, with a lot more concentration on Dunne torturing Bate, and Tyler fighting to overcome it. Full Sail not going crazy for it for most of the match takes it down a peg a bit, but for my money, it's the best NXT TV match this year. If neither are signed to full deals by the end of 2018, I will be amazed.

I just read a 5 page thread for Impact. I came here to see what everyone was saying about NXT this week, expecting at least 6 or 7 pages, and found nothing. Iโm disappointed in you, WWE Board.

Just had enough time to properly watch this episode again. One of the best I've ever seen. Already spoke of my love for Dunne's character, but I should also add that I f***ing love Lars Sullivan (that silhouette of him during his entrance was awesome). I cannot wait for him to encounter a certain monster on the RAW roster...

Great match that runs the risk of being forgotten.

What I keep thinking about, what I keep coming back to, is this idea of a weekly UK show. It is not a good idea. If I'm Triple H, I would be fighting to do one of three things... 1) Keep these guys in NXT where they could at least mix it up with non-UK guys. 2) Make it so they could at least mix it up with guys who aren't from the UK. Don't pigeonhole them. 3) Make the UK show an event. Once a month, once every two month, once every three. Don't ruin these guys by making them less... special. Basically, don't repeat the mistakes of 205 Live. Which should be obvious advice but apparently is not.

Make the UK all encompassing, sometimes they can mingle with 205 Live and The Main Roster Talent as well. Theyve shown to be incredibly versatile and Dunne has shown to be incredibly talented as a performer. Also it might actually start opening up a path for more foreign superstars to NOT BE HEELS in this damn company...

I'm never going to watch 205 Live because... what's the point? Yeah, I understand that Gulak is putting in charming work right now but this idea that he's probably never going to interact with anyone outside of the ten or two people in a sideshow division... that idea just kills the whole thing for me. And the thing is, if the UK show becomes a weekly thing then Bate and Dunne will wrestle each other every week for nine weeks. Then they'll take a break for two months and wrestle each other regularly again except they won't be in a feud. In fewer words, they'd completely ruin a great thing.

It definitely killed TJP's push of being the first CWC when it turns out everyone he beat in the tournament before all have by now pinned TJP clean on 205Live or RAW at some point (multiple times in Rich Swann's or Brian Kendrick's case) kills their push pretty quick, just like how Kalisto got a raw deal holding the title even shorter than Tozawa did.
I don't look forward to when Dunne eventually has to lay down and lose his title to Roman. Keep the UK title on NXT as long as possible I say, it's a pretty effective TV title right now and it always steals the show on NXT.
