From HereSeems to be a sudden resurgence of the Vince wants to sell WWE to pursue new interests rumour. Is there A) anyone in the world willing to pay the kind of price the WWE would command for what is a pretty sketchy business model and B) who would be left in charge if such a thing was to happen? Will there ever be a day where we see wrestling without a McMahon in it?

Doubtful. And remember, any stock he sells off changes to non-voting stock.

I would believe that when it happens.
I can't imagine who would buy it, but Ted Turner would be hilarious.

I don’t think he’s selling because, well, it’s not worth much right now let’s be honest. It makes money (more so than its ratings prime) but the money pretty much goes right back into the company. And even with the footage, many legends own their own stuff anyway so it’s not like any company can use the branding with much.
I DO buy into the theory he wants to either set up a sports management company or buy a team, though. You don’t sell $100m in stock and NOT set up for a big purchase of some kind.

Won't believe it until something concrete happens.
With all of it's skeletons in the closet I doubt anyone is willing to actually buy it either.

The biggest company they work most closely with must be NBC/Comcast, I assume?
Wonder if they would be interested in more?
I just don't see Disney even being interested.

What a coincidence, the Carolina Panthers. Huh. That’d be some really surreal full circle thing there.

Does anyone really think that Vince will sell the company instead of letting Stephanie or Shane take over? Come on now.

If he does sell, Disney according to rumor is the most likely buyer which I think could be good for WWE. Remember that Disney is not just kid friendly but they do have stuff that’s rated R or the equivalent of TV MA which could be quite good as I would think that if Disney bought Wwe I could see it going one of 5 ways
More serious storylines like you had in the Attitude era and even some more good storylines for fans to sink into with good characters we can identify with like Austin in the Attitude Era
Booked similar to Lucha Underground
Could go further towards a G rating which would kill Wwe
Could be like Impact and go nowhere but with a well known name
Kills Wwe and sells the library in dvd’s
I’m thinking either the first or 3rd option as I think even if the third option happens at least the storylines would be more jointed and not something that goes nowhere or makes little sense

I could see Toby Keith maybe wanting it --- remember, Jeff Jarrett talked him into buying TNA from Dixie but Dixie said no

Disney is going to own everything sooner or later, might as well get WWE now.
