I still love the 80's to Destroyah Arc.
I know it's mostly garbage, but it's my garbage. That bulky Godzilla design is the one that pops into my head when I close my eyes.

That's because there is none. With the exception of Tokyo SOS (which is a direct sequel to Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla) every single entry in this period is a hard reboot, dispensing with everything before it except the original '54 film. There are at least 13 different confirmed continuities just in the films, not including the comic and 'toon versions having at least half a dozen more. Not to mention some of the handwavey stuff like, "So Anguirus is just alive again now?" from the Showa era. Well it could just be another anguirus. After all, there are multiples of some of the monsters like Kamikaras and Mothra. Speaking of Mothra, the thing that always made me scratch my head was when in Ghidorah the Three Headed Monster those kids ask to see Mothra and the hosts say something to the effect that Mothra is a sci-fi (Fictional) monster in the middle of a movie that has Mothra in it and has other characters that know of Mothra so it's obvious that Mothra is real. Thats probably a bad translation or dubbing though - but on top of that they simply do away with how there were twin Mothra's who defeated Godzilla. Mothra's continuity has to be the worst among the monsters, either that or the thing only has like a life-span of a few months. But yeah, each movie sorta has to be taken as a self-contained thing. The only ones that really even tried were the 80s/90s ones and even those had some major head scratchers.

Yep, like when they erased Godzilla from history, only to have everyone still remember him and all of his prior battles still also remembered, and then he just magically shows back up even bigger than he was before. ....god, I hate that film.

But what about the Dorklocks!?! Or whatever crap those were called. Man they were worse than Jet Jaguar. At least he had a bitchin' suit.

Still has one of my favorite parts of any Godzilla movie; when they first get to the WWII island and M-11 goes running through the woods (I also love the acting of the officers on the US Ship)!

Nice little bit of revisionist history in the one they playing right now (Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla - 2002) - the masers didn't kill Gaira! A volcano killed him and Sanda! The masers did wound him pretty bad though. I wish they would play some more of the non-Godzilla kaiju movies like War of the Gargantuas - I really love that one and Frankenstein Conquers the World.

SpaceGodzilla is such a fun entry IMO..sans the infamous space parts that look straight out of an ed wood movie.
Kind of wish they would give it the reboot treatmeant because there is so much more they could do...but keep the general design which is awesome.

My favorite part of Space Godzilla is the early part with the "Space station" getting attacked. All you see is like a half second of crystals impaling the the inside. Immediately somebody says "IT MUST BE A GIANT SPACE MONSTER!" I love it. I laugh every time. FINALLY a movie immediately drops the "we don't know what it is even though it's already running rampant" act like most zombie/monster movies. Just flat out jumps to GIANT SPACE MONSTER. A+
