What would you consider a clean win?
Hogan had Warrior pinned when the ref was out at Wrestlemania VI, but he lost later on. Do you consider that clean?
What about pinning someone with a handful of tights??? Heel tactic for the most part, but is it considered clean if you win that way?
Then there’s things like putting your foot on the ropes for leverage during a pin. That’s deliberately breaking a rule, so that’s probably clearly not clean, but what if you “cheated” earlier in the match and it didn’t get you the pin, but you still win later? Is that still a clean win?

My understanding has been "no distractions, no rope leverage, no tights holding, no low blows, no weapons"
Stuff like one of the competitors getting attacked pre-match or one having a visual pinfall that doesn't count due to ref bump; those don't make it outright unclean, but in terms of credibility is a lesser victory than a win that didn't have either would be.

A win where the loser doesn't have any excuse why he lost. The better man won.

I'd go slightly further there: "No distraction, no rope leverage, no tights holding, no low blows, and no weapons take place IN THE DIRECT FINISH, or failing that, any dirty moves are cancelled out in the process of the match."
