The text just says Merry Christmas, but all the same, I'm down. Loved the first game... and admittedly been dragging my ass on getting around to playing Bravely Second. Been wondering about getting to it soon though.

It'd be sweet to have the Bravely series come to the Switch. But if they decide to port the original games, how would they bring over some of the features that took advantage of what the 3DS had, like making use of the cameras or using Streetpass?

I hope they don't have the micro transactions. Yeah, I own both games. Especially with how expensive the original was; I have no intention to sell them. They were very interesting & show there's still room for traditional RPGs.

JOB SYSTEM!
That's all I really have to contribute as I don't have a 2/3DS yet, though both Bravely Default and Bravely Second having a Final Fantasy-style Job System really makes me really interested in the series. Both games will probably be among my first purchases for the system when I finally do get one, along with the Fire Emblems.

You get extra in-game stuff for completing various tasks in them.

I didn't get far into Default on 3DS but I feel like I'd be way more engaged playing them on Switch.

Man, I loved everything about Bravely Default except the last few chapters. I never bothered completing the game because of how bad it got.

Really the only uses for it are it can be used to one-shot Gigas Lich and it helps with the insanely hard bonus boss, and since the drink refills on its own there's really no reason to pay for it.

I think the best thing about the last few chapters is how they shakeup the Asterik battles. Biggest issue with that is how they take too long to actually get into doing that. Especially with the DeRosso fights, pretty much everything about those is exactly the same for like four times before they finally shake it up. Still, I didn't mind the endgame nearly as much as a lot of people. Though by the time I finished it I did come away not wanting to play the game again any time soon and feeling like I'd gotten my fill.

I'm not too surprised if this does happen. Not sure how Bravely Second did, but I know that Bravely Default ended up doing really well. I also recall Square essentially being forced to admit they screwed up by leaving publishing to Nintendo, since they missed out on a lot of money they'd have otherwise made.

If Square ever ports Dragon Quest XI or Final Fantasy XV here for Switch, I'm cool.

Yeah Bravely Default made Square somehow finally realize that Western markets love JRPGs, after countless Final Fantasy games and the Kingdom Hearts series doing massive business in the West for them.

Even nintendo themself mess up on how they handed Xenoblade, Last Story and Pandora Tower for Wii and the Earthbound/Mother series. It was a weird time for JRPG. Company thought it was still a niche here despite games like Final Fantasy and Pokemon being major franchises over here.
