Put it this way...in 30 years or whenever Paul passes away, every article will start by mentioning him as the guy behind ECW. Some of you guys have very short memories. He'll always be the ECW mastermind. This for sure. Sure, right now it's "oh yeah, he also ran ECW", but his legacy, how he will be remembered is ECW.

Ya know, I never really thought about it, but if you asked anybody younger than maybe 24-25, they might not even know of Paul Heyman pre-WWE. I think the further removed from ECW that we get, that part of his identity will continue to become more and more secondary. This is what I was trying to say. As the years go on, I think he will be mentioned more as Brock's advocate and the manager of the guy who ENDED THE STREAK. In WWE history, THE STREAK >>>>>>>>>>>>> ECW. We all know that and you can't teach that. So shedding the image of ECW is something I can see WWE doing. I must disagree. Heyman's innovative running of ECW changed the landscape of late 90s WWF, ushered in the attitude era which helped the WWF compete, overtake and beat WCW. The streak, while iconic, was a kayfabe achievement for one wrestler.

I mean I can see the WWE machine on 20 years or so upsell Heyman's career as advocate more than ECW. Was Hunter a fan of ECW? Because if he wasn't I can definitely see him downplaying it years from now.
