I've always thought the GTS was such a dangerous move. Dropping dead weight and you never know when the knee is coming. Most of the guys are smart enough to get their hands up and feet down so they rarely take it that way. Don't know why Kendrick didn't do any of that. He's the same guy who took a move from Ibushi in the most dangerous way possible when even Ibushi went out of his way to NOT do it that way. EDIT : Or was that the other way around?

Honestly, Kendrick seems like the type that probably told Hideo to really lay it in. I don't think it was an accident that he took it like that. Probably wasn't the smartest thing to do, but as a Kendrick and Hideo fan, I think this was an example of Kendrick trying to help him get a reaction from the crowd.
I don't think the spot was a work, but I think they're treating it like a work. Maybe it's going to become the "banned move" that a heel Hideo will use to injure his opponents.

Other way around I believe. Does make me wonder if with the right people he's willing to take/dish out some stiff stuff.

Boy, Hideo is REALLY intent on proving how vicious his GTS is!
Seriously, feel bad for Hideo, hope Brian heals up well from this. Sucks for both guys.

Looking at a .25 speed video of this on Youtube: The way Brian took it I'd say he's lucky his nose only broke his orbital bone, instead of giving him a lobotomy.

Hasn't Kendrick taken the move before? I could have sworn there were Kendrick/KENTA matches in Japan. I figured that's why they paired them up in the first place.

If I remember right Kendrick used a Burning Hammer against Ibushi in the CWC.

Having taken some time off in 2017, Papa Shango is back to make sure the Royal Rumble has a limited selection pool. When the hell did he ever take time off? I swear every two weeks someone's ACL or shoulder were ripped to shreds. I mean seriously, let's just name a few notables for each month... January: Seth Rollins tears his ACL during the debuting Samoa Joe ambush February: Naomi tears her ACL and has to drop the title she just won March: Tommaso Ciampa tears his ACL right at the start of his heel turn April: Roman Reigns separates his shoulder during the fight with Strowman May: Emma messes up her shoulder at a live show in Liverpool June: Primo Colon suffers a knee injury, The Colons haven't been seen on WWE TV since July: Bayley suffers a shoulder injury tweaking it in a fight with Nia Jax August: Samoa Joe suffers a knee injury at a house show, Big Cass tears his ACL live on Raw September: Jeff Hardy suffers a shoulder injury that's taken him off the road for 4-6 months. Oh, and Cesaro shoves his front teeth up into his skull hitting a turnbuckle. October: Viral infections hit so many major stars that TLC's card gets changed drastically (notables include Roman Reigns, Bo Dallas, and Bray Wyatt). Shane also takes a header off the Hell in a Cell and breaks some ribs November: Sin Cara tears an ACL at a live show in Spain December: Kendrick's orbital bone injury, but also Dean Ambrose messes up his arm Yeah, there isn't any slowing down of the injury train as long as they continue to run these guys (and girls) ragged.

I just thought it was really good selling by Kendrick. Sucks that he's hurt now.
Watch them now take the GTS away from Itami AKA the one main thing he's got going for him right now

It is the one thing that helps him stand out from the rest. Although I could see him returning to using the Busaiku Knee Kick.
