For those that didn't see (or care, I don't blame ya), The Miz was selected as Rolling Stone's Wrestler of the Year: www.rollingstone.com/sports/features/wwe-wrestler-of-the-year-the-miz-w514141Today, the GOAT decided to point the shotgun at his foes on twitter: The Miz is one of the few acts on this roster I give a f*** about so shout out to him for constantly taking what the company gives him and making the best of it.

I don't even like Miz but that "wearing your own merch" line is kinda hard. He pretty much insulted the rest of the entire roster haha.

Miz vs. Brock Lesnar. I don't give a crap if Mix is thrown around like a rag doll, this is a perfect feud for him to gain the fans respect. Next night he comes out, cuts a promo and then some new heel interupts him. Maybe Joe.
Miz is ready to be Universal Champion.

Miz absolutely needs to be the next heel WWE Champion. Hell, he should've been the last one.

And I definitely like these categories.
I love our FAN Awards but we need to steal some of these categories next year.

Most Overdue Yet-to-Be Title Holder of the Year: Nia Jax Best Fake Onscreen Authority of the Year: Stephanie McMahon Most Promising Youngster of the Year: Chad Gable Most Improbably Awesome Match of the Year: Survivor Series' Team Angle Vs. Team McMahon EEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWW, those picks. Also I'll be honest, I have no idea what the categories for the FAN awards are.

As well he should be, Miz absolutely killed this year in just his mic and character work alone. Doesn't hurt that he's no slouch in the ring, either.

Yeah the Stephanie McMahon and Team Angle vs Team McMahon had me scratching my head. Otherwise the article was pretty good. I've actually liked Miz for a long time though I have no problems admitting that when he first arrived as a reality star with a faux hawk I wanted nothing to do with him. He's come a long way.

I used to have a lot more goofy categories, but it ended being a wall of text that I had to split into two separate articles, so I slowly phased most of them out.

I can’t heap enough praise on the Miz. Dude is a top promo guy, puts on good matches, does anything the company ever asks him to,constantly changes up his act, he can lose and come back from anything...
Very few guys can match the fire that the Miz brings.

Is that something to flex about? It's like Scientific American naming Dirk Nowitski N.B.A.'er of the year.

It's a shame that he seems to have set his own ceiling at "Intercontinental Title", though. He's entitled to a rematch when he gets back, so he's just selling the upcoming angle. That said, it'll be criminal if he doesn't get boosted back to the main event scene in 2018.

Rolling Stone has been pretty broadly a general pop culture mag from pretty much the beginning and pro wrestling is a major fixture of their sports section right now. Not even just WWE either; only a few scrolls down on their sports section is an interview with Kenny Omega.

If this were 2016 I could possibly see the argument for Miz being Wrestler of the Year, but in 2017 when he's had maybe one good match, a bunch of identikit worked shoot promos, and an interminable IC title reign? No way.
2017 Miz has largely been coasting on the fact that he revitalized himself in 2016.
