Nakamura is as good a choice as anyone. I do like the idea of another Balor match though. I might save that for a time after the next draft though, since Balor is on Raw at the moment and there's no real logical way to get him to SD for WM.

I'd have AJ hold the title all the way until next years Wrestlemania and do a year long slow build to Balor/Styles.

Eating a meatball hoagie at WWF New York.
(Seriously though, AJ against just about anyone could steal the show.)

vs. Orton, I liked their previous match and think they could steal the show at Mania. I haven't seen their first match, but I find a Styles / Orton match oddly interesting.

Have Nakamura or Joe win the Rumble, whichever one does challenges Styles, give it a simple, direct, and straightforward build up that utilizes their histories with one another.

I'd be good with him defending the title in a prominent match against someone that can keep up with him. Nakamura is as good a choice as anyone. I do like the idea of another Balor match though. In theory, they could have him win the rumble and choose to go after AJ.

Keep Orton away from the WWE title. He had no business with it this year and he has no business with it in 2018. I want an entertaining champion.

Orton/Styles would be a decent B PPV main event but I have zero interest in it at WM. Besides, if the rumors are true AJ has wanted Nakamura at a big PPV like WM for the past year. I wouldn't pay much attention to that leaked Fast Lane 5 way main event. If Nakamura or any of the others wins the Rumble just make it a 4 way.
It's a bit sad that most of the intrigue and speculation for WM involves what SD will do title wise. Does anyone care about Raw and the Universal title at this point? We all know it will be Lesnar/Reigns, so just get it over with and we can move on with our lives.

I’ve heard great things about the Nakamura/AJ Match they had in Japan but to be honest I’m not really into Nakamura as I was when he first came aboard. I’d like to be wrong and see him win the Rumble but I can’t picture it happening.

I'd be good with him defending the title in a prominent match against someone that can keep up with him. Honestly this is the only really sensible answer to me; the picked-apart specifics of who makes sense four months out before any of the pieces are in place aren't too important to me. What is important is that the best use for AJ Styles on a big show is to have him in a major spot on the card having a great match with ample amounts of time against someone who can work, preferably with a title if they can swing it. That's what you do with AJ Styles.

My stream scenario: Neville comes back at Royal Rumble as a “free agent” and wins, then shows up on Raw and SmackDown for a few weeks before deciding on facing AJ for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.

I'm not really interested in Styles against Nakamura simply because I've seen it before in New Japan. But it would be a better choice than, say, jobbing to Jericho (although it was a good match) or wrestling Shane (which I do think was them trying to make a point about how over he is with the office).
I would just want him to have a singles match that's fresh, honestly. But I'm not sure who is left for him to wrestle on Smackdown that he's not already traded wins with. Cena, Orton, Owens, Ambrose even though he's on Raw now... who else is left?
