Imagine the pop if The Rock say screw it and rock bottom Reigns right there and then. Jesus, that would have been incredible.

The entire roster no selling this "Ceremony of Champions" segment followed by this great Punk reaction when Steph was putting over Triple H. Dolf wasn’t exactly feeling the love for Triple H that night either, was he? Honestly, he might have saved his career a lot of disappointment if he had booked it for Japan. Ah, VKM and Ego H... will you never learn?

For me 'You tapped out!' to HHH's imaginary valiant effort against Brock is the tops.
Even as a guy that likes H, that was HILARIOUS.

The problem being the line between character and ego stroke with Steph and Ego is so fine as to be invisible. That and Phil pulled the rip cord shortly thereafter. Fact of the matter is the crowd is sick of it by now. We are begging for them to listen and they don’t. And they wonder why the crowds are shrinking when they insist on pushing Roman and the anabolic Hindu down our throats instead of letting characters get over and take a chance on them.

That would've been an amazing 3 way with Seth still cashing in. Rock was there already so a match was possible.

My memory is horrible, did the crowd no-sell Batista pointing at the Mania sign after the famous Rumble? Or did they shit all over him. I really don't remember. Don't remember how it came off on TV, but I was at the 2014 Rumble, and Pittsburgh audibly was pissed. I was there too and...yeah. It was not pretty.

Triple H has his arm broken against the beast Brock Lesnar at Summerslam 2012 and is forced to tap out. Following the grueling match, he slowly gets to his feet holding his injured arm, looking out at the assembled crowd at the Staples Center, eyes wide with regret at letting them down. After such a valiant effort and passionate determination displayed by HHH against a monster like Brock, there can be only one proper response the 14,000 people there could truly give such a performance... "You tapped out! You tapped out! You tapped out!" God I laughed hard that night. To this day, I still blame that crowd for HHH's constant appearances. If only they had cheered him, he might've f***ed off forever. Instead, they forced him to keep coming back until they finally love him.

I seem to recall Tinashe getting a rather lukewarm reaction. I heard she was supposed to be a huge get that would raise WWE's profile. That was not the case. oh god that thread

You can pinpoint the moment when The Rock realize that Roman Reigns was going to be a failure. Imagine the pop if The Rock say screw it and rock bottom Reigns right there and then. I know this phrase is tossed around a lot , but that would have started the new boom period there

I know this phrase is tossed around a lot , but that would have started the new boom period there That would easily be the best audible call ever made in pro wrestling history, by probably the one and only person that could get away with it. I can't begin to imagine the resulting pop.

For me 'You tapped out!' to HHH's imaginary valiant effort against Brock is the tops. Even as a guy that likes H, that was HILARIOUS. That whole thing was an exercise in terrible booking. Right then and there, the WWE should have started to correct the whole "Tapping out means you're a weak pussy" narrative. They've gotta treat tapping out like MMA does, it's not seen as weak. You got caught in a move, there was no escape, and you tapped out to just lose the fight, but you live to fight another day. If you don't tap, well, your arm or leg is broken, or you're completely choked out, you don't just lose the fight, you've now got severe damage so you're out of action for a long time. Also, Triple H got way too much offense in on Brock. It's like they saw that Chicago started cheering for Cena against Brock, and they thought the same thing would happen with Triple H. They forgot one key thing, Cena was obliterated by Brock, and Brock wouldn't end the match, he just kept punishing Cena, after awhile it became uncomfortable for the crowd, and they started to cheer for Cena to beat Brock. They didn't have Brock obliterate Triple H to gain that sympathy for Trips, so of course the fans are going to 100% be on the side of the legit ass kicker.

Right, in a real fight you're stupid NOT to tap. Still no less funny with them trying to right it as HHH getting defeated hero's response and the crowd was like: "Nope."

Right, in a real fight you're stupid NOT to tap. Still no less funny with them trying to right it as HHH getting defeated hero's response and the crowd was like: "Nope." What's worth noting is that the entire build with Lesnar/HHH completely explains the crowd's reaction. Triple never once looked vulnerable in the build-up, cut unlikable smug promos against Lesnar/Heyman (with Stephanie doing just the same), and the only real sympathy was put on HBK for Brock breaking his arm on Raw. As a result Summerslam loss and big injury on HHH came off less as the fighting hero coming up short and more the arrogant asshole being put in his place. Whatever babyface fire or momentum he had was done at this point and you could look at everything after as diminishing returns until the formation of the Authority at Summerslam 2013.

I feel like people are mistaking the wrong reaction for no reaction.
The title Ascension crowd were incredibly hot, just not for what WWE wanted them to be. That's definitely not no-selling.

When WWE tried to capitalize on Fandangoing and had Lawler go out, cut a cringe promo about it, present a cringe meme video package, cringly introduce Fandango and shout "everyone do they Fandango" during his entrance.
The crowd was f***ing dead.

Jinder Mahal is of Sikh origin. And don’t think that means you can call him an “anabolic sikh” instead.
