This was a question on Family Feud. The top answer was Monday, but I’d think it’d be a different day. Monday is the start of the work week and some offices I’ve seen go out on Monday for happy hour at a bar or restaurant to help move past that first day back at work. Especially if the job/boss sucks.
My guess is Tuesday. Wednesday could be a mid week treat for some people and for others Thursday could be getting an early start to Friday which is essentially the weekend.

Tuesdays seem to be the least crowded locally. Friday and Saturdays are the most crowded. Followed by Wednesday and Sunday, after church lets out most restaurants in town are packed. Lots of places have a Senior's night on Thursdays so that draws a crowd. So Tuesdays win by default locally.

Around my parts, monday's are now fairly busy due to the sheer amount of good specials everybody has to draw business on Mondays. 20 years ago I would have said Monday. Now I'd say Tuesday is the slowest day.

In my experience, Tuesday/Wednesday would generally be it. You can almost always find a restaurant with great deals on Mondays(Tuesdays as well most of the time) trying to keep the weekend crowd coming in. Plus most restaurants I've worked in generally have deliveries on a wednesday or so and some places plan that so deliveries can be put away in a timely manner without too much business getting in the way.

Monday. In the south a lot of restaurants don’t even open.

There is no blanket answer for this question. Too many variables for all the demographics.
Thats my 20 years in the industry experience.
If you want a better answer, it would be the time most restaurants are at their slowest.
And that would be M-F, during the school year, between 3:00-4:30/5:00 depending on what their Happy Hour crowd is.

And anyone who thinks Wednesdays is a potential answer, nope.
Most custody agreements between split parents who are M-F 9-5 professionals give the father Wednesday nights in the agreement. Look around the next time youre at a chain restaurant. You'll see alot of dads with just the kids.
